An amazing experience! - The goal of this tour was to fulfil one of my daughter's wishes: to know the history of PasoFino Colombian horses and have the opportunity to ride them. Both of my daughters ride horses and are always interested in learning more about these particular horses. Fortunately, we found the tour offered by Criadero Lusitania. Camilo, one of the owners, gave us a fantastic experience. He was excellent in telling us the history of the Paso Fino horses, how the horses are trained, and all the hard work needed to raise these fantastic animals. We also had the great opportunity to meet the crew working at the criadero; they were great hosts and shared their knowledge and expertise. They also showed us the different types of horses and gave us a demonstration of their riding skills. The whole family had the unique opportunity to ride some national champion horses, an unforgettable experience. Camilo was a terrific host, explaining clearly both in English and Spanish. Moreover, we were surprised by a delicious BBQ prepared by our host, Camilo. In summary, it was a fantastic experience that helped me achieve my goal of making my daughters happy. Finally, my family and I would like to thank Camilo and his crew for the fantastic time and hard work keeping this Colombian pride, the Paso Fino horses, alive.

Best day in Bogota! - We stayed in Columbia for 18 days and this was by far the best day we spent! Juan and Camilo are outstanding hosts and made us feel like friends. They were patient and kind answering the questions we had. The horses are AMAZING, beautiful creatures. You have every opportunity to meet each one up close and hear each one’s story. We even fed them sugar cubes. There are 12 friendly dogs on the farm and we enjoyed getting to know them too. Speaking of eating, we were fed like farm hands. Literally 2 meals, although the guys called one a “snack”! Proper lunch was delicious and served on the terrace with a beautiful view. It was so much food we couldn’t eat it all! This experience is the perfect way to leave the city, meet some friendly people and see some absolutely stunning horses! I will do this again when I return to Bogota. Highly recommend!

Excellent expercience - My group of 3 consisted of both English and Spanish only speakers, Camilo was more than happy to accommodate us by duplicating his commentary in each language. Camilo was an interesting and engaging host and his passion for Paso Fino horses is abundant and infectious. His knowledge of the breed and ecosystem around it is excellent. In addition to providing information around Paso Fino horses, Camilo also provided interesting and frank context into wider topics affecting Colombia today. The stable tour was dense in information in terms of the history of each horse and would be of particular interest to aficionados of the breed. The requirements of our group for lunch was somewhat complicated as I am a vegetarian while the rest of the group was not, but again, this was cheerfully accommodated and an excellent meal was provided. Camilo is strong advocate of Colombian food and made sure I experienced some tasty dishes that I had not until that point. Sitting and observing the training process along with drinks in the afternoon was pleasant and interesting, Camilo continued to provide commentary which built on the knowledge foundation that had been provided earlier in the day.

Exceptional - From the moment we were picked up from the hotel we learned not only about the beautiful Paso Fino horses, but also about the exceptional quality care that is given to maintain the reputation that has been established for three generations here at Cridadero Lusitania. The attention to detail is evident as we learned what it takes to maintain a championship stable from the nutrition, to the veterinary care, and training, as well as their strict breeding protocols. Whether you're an expert or just an animal lover, the experience we received was truly wonderful. I can't stop raving about the great experience I had and the wonderful opportunity to meet Camilo and Juan David at their ranch. Thank you again for welcoming us and treating us to a delicious traditional Colombian lunch!
