• Gizeh Plateau - The Giza pyramid complex, also known as the Giza necropolis, in Egypt features the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their respective pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx. These were constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of ancient Egypt, around 2600 to 2500 BC. The site also encompasses several temples, cemeteries, and the remnants of a workers’ village.
• Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid and served as the tomb for Pharaoh Khufu, who reigned during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom. Constructed around 2600 BC over approximately 27 years, it is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one that remains largely intact. It is the most renowned monument of the Giza pyramid complex, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Memphis and its Necropolis.” It is located at the northeastern end of the line of the three main pyramids at Giza.
• Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, with many discovered in a well in the temple’s floor by Mariette in 1860.
• Al Haram - Menkaure’s pyramid complex comprises a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple originally housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple.
