The lost close was an... - The lost close was an incredible piece of history, what a place to do a whiskey tasting. Our guide took us through an understanding of Highland Whiskey and not just its relationships to Edinburgh and Glasgow, but to other parts of the world. We learned how to look like proper whiskey aficionados, and check the “legs” on whiskey. I wish I remembered our guides name, he introduced himself at the start, then we were off to whiskey land. It was also pretty exclusive, just us and one other couple actually went into the close, so we all felt comfortable asking questions and sharing stories as we went. Just a very good time.

Wonderful experience with an excellent guide, great environment, and delicious whisky. - Women in Whisky was one of the highlights of my week in Edinburgh. Nicky was a phenomenal guide and her passion for sharing this important history was immediately apparent. The stories were engaging and ones you’d be unlikely to hear elsewhere, and the whiskies selected diverse and delicious. To add to the experience, the historically relevant tasting rooms are a perfectly cozy compliment to the experience. Will absolutely add this to my itinerary to visit again during my next holiday, and highly recommend to anyone whether well versed or brand new to the world of whisky.

Whisky is good for you. This is good for whisky! - A surprise Father’s Day gift that was secretly hoped for (I’m a dad, I know EVERYTHING 😂) but that exceeded any expectations. Haley was an enthusiastic, engaging and informative host who shouldn’t know that much about whisky at her age! She was passionate about Scotland, whisky and the relationship between the two The location was a bonus that enhanced the experience. The choice of whiskies showcased classics and new distillers across regions and styles. Quite an achievement in five (generous) tastings If you enjoy the water of life or want to get on the good side of someone who does I couldn’t recommend it more

Not sure what made it luxury. - Tried 5 whiskies. Really did not understand why the ones that were given to us were selected. We’d hope to learn more about the whisky industry and how these whiskies fit into the story. Like one from each region with more of a discussion about the chosen whiskies. It also made it a bit confusing bc this was a mixed tasting with people trying different scotches based on how much they paid and some drinking gin. Good whisky but didn’t really learn anything nor did we understand what made the selected whiskies “luxury”. The one exception was the super peaty islay one.
