Highlights
  • Little Fish Tours - This tour meets just off the iconic Royal Mile at our personal, custom made, whisky venue.

We have the entire downstairs of the bar reserved for us, giving us plenty of space and privacy to conduct our story orientated evening.

Over the next two hours we will drink four outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whiskies taken from the four major whisky producing regions of Scotland. These whiskies will range from the relatively delicate and subtle flavours of the Lowlands to the bold and robust tastes from Islay.

Scotland has a deep routed story telling tradition which centres around the idea of people coming together, sharing good times, good stories and good whisky with each other. The role of the story tellers was a highly respected position to hold in ancient Scotland.

During this tour we are going to revive some of that storytelling tradition and explore the significance of whisky to the Scottish identity whilst tying in some great tales taken from across Scotland.

English Ben knows his stuff! - We wanted to do a whisky tasting while visiting Edinburgh - and this didn’t disappoint. English Ben was great, and very knowledgeable on Scottish folklore as well as his knowledge of whisky making and tasting notes. The 2 hours flew by, the stories were amusing and entertaining and would recommend to anyone.

A fun evening of whisky and folktales - We had English-Ben as our storyteller, and he was stellar! He was engaging and funny. He kept the crowd engaged throughout—very quick-thinking and off-the-cuff funny. He was very knowledgeable about whisky. You can tell he is passionate about his work. The whiskies were well chosen and took us through the different whisky regions. They were all different, so for those who aren’t whisky lovers already, you can find which type you’d prefer. The stories were well aligned with which whisky we were drinking. This was a fun experience. I would definitely re-do this activity. It was the best whisky tasting I did during my stay in Edinburgh.

Ben the Englishman - The entire experience was stellar. The folklore storytelling entwined with whisky tasting is a MUST-Do! Ben, our host, did a fantastic job introducing each whiskey and its origin. Between the whisky, storytelling, and Ben’s wit, you'll have an outstanding time full of laughter! Thanks for a wonderful time!

Whisky and Whimsy - I went with a group of friends for the whisky tasting and Alasdair was our guide. He did a phenomenal job reciting stories including great impressions, engaging anecdotes and delightful pantomiming. He was very knowledgeable of the history of whisky, Scotland, and offered a variety of recommendations for local pubs and restaurants. I highly recommend going for a tour, and if you get Alasdair, you're in great hands.
