Hop on/off bus is a great deal! - Hop on/off bus was great! We got to see so much more of Edinburgh by riding the bus and the narrated information was incredible- we learned so much.We bought the tickets that included Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace & the Royal Yacht Britannia tour. When we arrived at the Castle, we walked past the throngs of tourists waiting in line and entered the premises with our prepaid time-stamped tickets. It was fabulous! We didn’t didn’t leave ourselves enough time for Holyrood Palace but we had been there last year, so opted to take the bus to Dean Village instead & walk along the waters of Leith, followed by a tour of the Botanic Gardens. Our last stop was the Royal Yacht Britannia and it did not disappoint. It was amazing!

Best value for your money - Truly the best value for your money. We got the Royal Edinburgh Ticket which was a 48 hour ticket that included access/tickets to three bus tours, Edinburgh Castle, Palace of Holyroodhouse, and Royal Yacht Britannia. It is an excellent way to get around town and tour three of the best attractions in Edinburgh. The bus drivers and tour guide were friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend doing this when you visit Edinburgh - it is a must!

2.5 days is too short to fully discover this nice city. We will definitely be back x - It is a very nice city and the hop on hop or takes you to all the sights. The Castle and Britannia were certainly interesting but also The Holyroodpalace and The Royal Mile.. not to mention Victoria street.. in short .. a lot to watch

Good for the sights, less for the travel - It’s helpful to have advance tickets for Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood & Yacht Brittania if you travel in early Sept. There are still large crowds of visitors in Edinburgh. Trip Advisor’s discount helped us stretch our dollars for admission to these 3 sights. The Hop On/Off bus was not as helpful to us. For example, we had to walk long stretches from our hotel to get to the bus stops. Also, some lines run only 1 way. So, for example, a Blue Bus will take you to the Botanic Gardens, but you can’t catch one back to Edinburgh Centre. And it’s a long way back- be prepared to spend money on a taxi.
