A great way to explore Dean Village - We found David’s private walking photography tour of The Dean Village to be a superb experience! He is an excellent tour guide. He is personable, very knowledgeable about the area, and passionate about the history of Edinburgh and Dean Village. While he accommodates mobile phone photographers, we had our cameras at the ready. David was very helpful in pointing out photo opportunities, suggested compositions, and tips on camera settings. In addition to his photography knowledge, David has a wealth of stories about the history of Edinburgh and Dean Village which made the tour a lot of fun and educational. We had a sunny fall day, and the views were magnificent. We were able to get shots of locals walking their dogs as points of interest in our photos. Bring your walking shoes as the itinerary includes a lot of walking up and down. I highly recommend David’s photography walk of Dean Village.

You should take this tour! - I met with David on an uncharacteristic sunny day in Edinburgh for a photography tour, and it was the best decision. You can tell David loves the city based on how enthusiastic and knowledgeable he is about it. During our tour, he helped me with camera settings and provided mini photo tutorials to get the perfect shot of the scene, all while telling me the history behind it. He even taught me how to take videos. We also covered a lot of ground during our tour but also took a break for a quick cup of tea and cake. I highly recommend getting to see, photograph, and know the city with David, it made my short visit even better.

A Gem of an Experience! - I sincerely recommend this tour with David. As a guide, he was terrifically enthusiastic, highly knowledgeable about both photography and the city, and, above all, genuinely kind. He did not just give pointers on how to better work our camera phones, he took us to a million hidden gems all over the city that afforded us amazing shots, all of which we never would have discovered without him, even after scouring countless websites and guide books ourselves to learn more about the city ourselves. His pace was brisk, which allowed us to cover a lot of ground and many sites, but he was always mindful of us when we needed a pause to take a picture, and he was always conscientious of my elderly father who joined us at a slower pace. And when we had to cut our tour slightly short, David very generously gave us another hour of his time the following day, there was just that much to cover and he was just that excited to share it. He truly went above and beyond for us, and, as a seasoned traveler, I can honestly say that I have never had a lovelier tour.

He taught us how to take some amazing photos using our iPhones. We really wanted to spend more time with him because of his knowledge of Edinburgh. What a brilliant operator.
