Tullibardine Distillery, a Scottish establishment, has been crafting whisky since 1949. Situated in Blackford, Perth and Kinross, it is near the Ochil Hills and the Danny Burn, which are its primary water sources. This family-owned distillery is known for its artisan whisky.
- Lindores Abbey Distillery - In 2017, the copper stills at Lindores Abbey Distillery began producing spirits once more. Drawing inspiration from both historical and contemporary Scottish distillers, as well as international influences, they are excited to introduce a modern approach to whisky-making at this historic location. Distillation at this site dates back to at least 1494, likely even earlier. This is evidenced by the earliest written mention of Scotch Whisky (then called Aqua Vitae) in the Exchequer Roll of that year. It references Brother John Cor, a Lindores monk, who was tasked by King James IV to convert 8 bolls of malt into Aqua Vitae. In today’s terms, 8 bolls of malt is approximately 500kg, sufficient to produce about 400 bottles of modern whisky. Visitors can enjoy a tasting at their own expense or opt for a tour and tasting at their own cost.
