- Stirling Castle - Experience the renowned Stirling Castle tour. Travel back in time and explore one of Scotland’s must-see attractions. Admission is included for a 45-minute tour.
Stirling Castle, located in Stirling, is among the largest and most significant castles in Scotland, both historically and architecturally. The castle is perched atop Castle Hill, an intrusive crag that is part of the Stirling Sill geological formation. It is surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs, providing a formidable defensive position.
- Stirling - Enjoy an hour of free time to have lunch and explore Stirling city centre and the old town.
Perched on a commanding wooded crag (the plug of an extinct volcano), Stirling’s beautifully preserved Old Town is a treasure trove of historic buildings and cobbled streets leading up to the ramparts of its impressive castle, offering panoramic views. The imposing Wallace Monument, a unique Victorian Gothic structure honoring the legendary freedom fighter of Braveheart fame, is clearly visible. Nearby is Bannockburn, the site of Robert the Bruce’s decisive victory over the English in 1314.
- Linlithgow Palace - Discover the magnificent ruins of the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Linlithgow Palace was constructed and expanded over two centuries by the Stewart kings, resulting in a splendid Renaissance residence.
The ruins of Linlithgow Palace are located in the town of Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland, 15 miles west of Edinburgh. The palace was a principal residence for the monarchs of Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries. Although maintained after Scotland’s monarchs moved to England in 1603, the palace was seldom used and was burned out in 1746. It is now a visitor attraction managed by Historic Environment Scotland.
Visitors also have the opportunity to explore the traditional Scottish town of Linlithgow and Linlithgow Loch.
