Additional Information

Allow us to send a chill down your spine with a spooky 75-minute tour of Edinburgh’s Old Town late in the evening. The past of Scotland’s capital isn’t simply filled with kings and queens, inventors, authors and academics, but it also includes murderers, witches, grave robbers, and even cannibals. Experience the thrill with one of our dressed-up guides, who portray such a scandalous former inhabitant, to amuse and spook you for the evening. They’ll guide you through the maze of narrow alleys and dimly lit squares of the Old Town, all the while narrating about the dreadful occurrences that happened there. After that, the tour will take a turn towards possibly Scotland’s most haunted cemetery, Greyfriars Kirkyard. The final leg of the tour takes you into the distinctly creepy underground vaults beneath South Bridge. This tour is perfect for those who enjoy hair-raising tales and the darker side of Scotland’s history. It’s more laid back than our later extreme paranormal tour.

I had an encounter with Soldier Jock - Incredible tour with Soldier Jock, he was so funny and incredibly interactive - great story telling. He even helped me feel at ease after an encounter in the children's room. As we were listening to his story, I felt a coldness on my right leg, just below the knee. Putting it down to the uneven floor, I moved to a flatter area and the coldness eased a bit, then returned. I moved again and the same thing happened. It was then that he told us about Timothy, a seven year old boy tortured in the witch enquiries, and how he likes to tug on people's clothes just below the knee. Still refusing to believe my mind wasn't playing tricks on me, when we came back up to street level, a few people felt my legs and confirmed a notable temperature difference between the two. Jock talked with me about the encounter, confirming what I felt, that the boy was not malicious in anyway, just playing. He even let me go back down to say I was sorry for what happened and say good bye. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Soldier Jock was great !! - Jock was great. Loved the tour. It’s a great way to learn the dark history of Edinburgh. Loved walking around and the underground part. It’s a sad history. It’s exciting to think you may encounter a ghost. One of the girls on the tour said she felt a ghost grab her leg and it’s now cold to touch.

Great history lesson. Wish the Scotts all the luck to gain their complete freedom for their country. - Interesting to hear the history of Scotts and Edinburgh. Group wasn't too big. Interesting to learn about how things were back hundreds of years ago and underground/land in the area.
