Amazing tour with amazing guide - Katherine was fantastic! My friend and I went on a private tour with her on Monday 15th and had the best time. She was knowledgeable, friendly and catered what we saw to our interests!

Tour cancelled at the last minute - I wasn’t going to write a review as we did not go on this tour as they cancelled it on the day, however they have emailed me more than once asking me to write a review. If the company cannot liaise with TripAdvisor to prevent email requests for reviews when they let you down, then clearly, they want my review badly! We booked this tour for 18th March and the company emailed the day before to ask us to move it to 27th March. Whilst this may be ok for locals, I can’t imagine many tourists would be in the city for two weeks. Unfortunately, I did not receive any notification that I had a TripAdvisor message and did not see this until on the day. I replied and said that we were not able to move the trip to the 27th and would like to keep it as the 18th. The original message from them did not say that they would need to cancel the trip, just that they were ‘asking’ us to move it. As I didn’t get a reply, I telephoned the company to be told that the tour was cancelled due to low numbers – they could however go ahead with the tour that day if I was willing to pay an extra £25 which I thought most inappropriate and about as customer focussed as a kick in the face. Whilst I understand that companies have to make money, there cannot be too many outlays for a walking tour, and having £45 of our money, I would have been happy if they had of continued with the tour on a smaller scale for us. As they would not offer this, and could not book us on the following three evenings either, our only option was to request a refund. With nothing to do that evening, as the tour was cancelled a matter of hours before we went out for a nice dinner. The restaurant was lovely, and fairly empty. Luckily their business model was not to cancel our meal “due to low numbers”. We found another walking tour whilst in the city and although this tour was very good, there were 28 of us on the tour which was a few too many. If it was capped at 20 that would have been best. It does seem odd, that some tour companies, can get up to 28 guests and this company cannot get 3… My advice is to avoid this company and wait until you are in the city and find one of the many companies on the Royal Mile and book a tour directly.
