Highly Recommend - This is a wonderful way to get the layout of Edinburgh and to explore its history from various centuries. Our guide James was excellent and showed all sorts of nooks and crannies of the city that we would never have found on our own with very interesting history. Asorb the information, ask questions, and enjoy! Ask for James . . . terrific guide.

Sean was just absolutely... - Sean was just absolutely great! He knew so many interesting facts about Edinburgh and made tour a fun filled afternoon. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants and pubs. 3 hours gave us just the right amount of time to get a taste of the city so we could explore on our own the next 2 days. Highly recommend this tour

5 Star Experience - Our walking tour of Edinburgh was a blast. This was one of the first activities we did on our trip into Scotland. Being able to learn the history and stories of Edinburgh made it so much more special whenever we strolled through the city. Our tour guide, Sean was so knowledgeable and professional. He made the three hours walking around Edinburgh very easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Great Guide & Communication with Stewart, Lots of Inclines! - Well, we (8 of us) arrived 20 minutes late but knowing there might have been an issue with getting off our anchored cruise ship, and waiting for a tender to take us to port and then getting a taxi, I contacted the tour people the night before. They were excellent in response to my emails letting me know I could catch up if the guide had to start without us. As there were 2 other people, the guide did start without us. We finally met up at St. Giles Cathedral while there was a marching band of a lot of Scottish bagpipe players! It was kind of comical as our guide, Stewart called my cell phone and we were waving across the square filled with 100’s of people, to each other to find us! But we did it! We were very happy to finally reach him and join the tour. We walked down a lot of streets, stopping for the history & stories of the past. We went by where hangings had taken place and the Hanging platform stone is still there fenced in. Across from it is The Last Drop bar, where it is said the person to be hung was given their last drink. Great decor and signs inside this bar. We saw the original (burned) and the new Elephant House where JK Rowling wrote a lot of the Harry Potter books, as her cousin owns it. Walked around the city on the outside of the castle being able to see a variety of views while seeing the local shops, etc. Then we walked up to the castle for a breathtaking view! The tour for inside the castle was sold out for the day which I knew if we wanted to see it, you should buy your tickets online in advance. We had already toured Windsor castle and others so no need for my group. We saw The Salvation Army’s Women’s Hostel, Mary’s Milk Bar (ice cream shop), Greyfriars “Bobby” the town Skye Terrier, Edinburgh’s OZ Bar (wish we had ventured inside), The Tron Kirk - a former church which was consecrated in 1641 and closed in 1952. Sat vacant for over 50 years and is now serving the Public Market with a gift shop inside and textile shop. After Stewart left us, we ended up having the BEST "Proper Fish & Chips" at Landy’s! Even a little scare as we sat outside under the umbrellas. A gust of wind picked up catching 3 umbrellas, lifting them over us and the side fence around the area! We couldn’t believe it as it happened so fast! Fortunately, no one was hurt! Take the tour, it is worth it. I would only suggest headsets to hear the guide better! Stewart is pictured with us wearing the denim blue baseball hat in front! God Bless you Stewart :)

3 hour walk Best of Edinburgh Small Group - We were a small group of three led by Andrew in the morning. Andrew checked to see what we had already viewed so he could adjust to what we had not experienced. So many historic facts we had passed by and not had known what we were looking at. Andrew had many stories and historical prospective both on social and historic events. I would highly recommend this tour. I wish we would have taken it at the beginning rather than so late in our visit. We would have had a better appreciation of what we were seeing.

Stories instead of city tour - The guide knew many stories about the history of Edinburgh but spend a lot of time telling these instead of showing us the city. The tour was not worth the money.
