Highlights
  • Temple of Horus - Your Egyptologist guide will provide a comfortable transfer by air-conditioned vehicle from your Luxor hotel or Nile Cruise to Aswan, with a stop at the impressive Edfu Temple en route. Dedicated to the falcon god Horus, the temple’s intricate reliefs offer valuable insight into ancient Egyptian religious and political beliefs.
  • Aswan High Dam - It’s time to take a break for lunch. Once you’ve finished your meal, we’ll head to the impressive High Dam. This structure is considered one of the most significant accomplishments of the past century in Egypt, as it contains 18 times the material used in the Great Pyramid of Cheops. Not only does it provide the country with water and electricity, but it also protects Egypt from the destructive flooding of the Nile River.
  • Temple of Philae - Next, you’ll explore the Temple of Isis at Philae. Construction of the temple began during the reign of Ptolemy II and was completed under the Roman emperors. It was dedicated to the goddess Isis, who was considered the mother of all gods, the mother of Horus, and the consort of Osiris.
  • Unfinished Obelisk - Continuing on, we will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, an impressive example of ancient Egyptian stone-cutting techniques. This obelisk is believed to have been commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut during the 18th Dynasty. After the tour, we will transfer you back to your hotel or Nile Cruise in Luxor.

Transit Service from Luxor to Aswan - After enjoying a fantastic felucca experience with Luxor Egypt Tours, we opted for their transit service from our hotel in Luxor to another hotel in Aswan without any stops. They offered us a discounted rate of LE 2,500 (GBP 41.67), which we found quite reasonable. The driver, Tamir, arrived earlier than the scheduled pick-up time. He was fantastic, professional, and very polite. Throughout the journey, he remained focused on the roads, drove with care, and didn’t use his phone at all. Although he didn’t speak much English, he could communicate well enough for us to understand. He didn’t try to sell us any tour packages or make unnecessary stops at shops or factories. The car was the best one we’ve had in Egypt so far. It was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Overall, it was a very pleasant drive, and we felt extremely safe. Excellent service!

Our trip from Luxor to Aswan. - George was an amazing tour guide on our trip from Luxor to Aswan. Very friendly and very knowledgeable of the history in the area. He took us to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the Dam. Amazing experience and very much worth your time. The boat ride to the Temple was very nice and scenic as well. I highly recommend this tour and George as your guide.
