Short Line in Ticket Office/Gift Shop - We had about a 5 min wait to present our printed copy of our ticket purchase and we were on our way to tour this beautiful estate of Queen Victory and Prince Albert. Sorry horror stories about poor service in resturant and cafe had us looking for quick and easy eating/refreshments at or near Osborne House. We noticed there was a convenient small cafeteria in the same location as the ticket office and gift shop so we dropped after our tour and got a sandwich and tea. Perfect!

Interesting house and out buildings in beautiful setting - My Australian friend and I visited in Sept. The weather was beautiful so made the garden a joy to behold and the woodland and beach walks very pleasant. In the house and Swiss Chalet the guides were extrenely knowledgeable and shared lots of insights about Victoria, Albert and their children. I found the nursery and the details about each child and their different interests fascinating - well worth the visit

Excellent destination on the Isle of Wight - This is a spectacular site to see. The artwork and sculpture inside is magnificent. Cribs in the nursery, the 'antler room', serve to really convey the sense of the people who lived there. Grounds are beautiful. The tea room/restaurant is excellent.

GREAT DAY OUT - We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Osborne House. So interesting to see where Queen Victoria and her family spent many happy days. It was also fascinating seeing all the artwork that she and Albert bought each other over the years. The grounds are stunning too so try and go when you can get out and enjoy them too.

A must do on the Isle of Wight - We were lucky to visit on a relatively warm and dry day as the gardens are as interesting as the House. We found that the House seemed to contain a lot of "stuff" not all of which was particularly noteworthy. However the Dining Room was amazing and well presented. The walk down to the beach is quite a distance but there is a minibus that takes the strain. The rustic cafe in the Swiss gardens is worth a visit on the way back from the beach. Overall a good day out.

Emma made the visit so special - A truly fantastic trip back in time. The house is amazing. I met Emma and she shared her knowledge and completely made the whole place come alive.

Osborne House - We were really looking forward to this visit, and initially it went OK. the entrance fee was quite expensive. The house itself was quite interesting, but the displays were mediocre. The best area was the Durbar Room which was excellent, with lots of history and good displays. We were fortunate to have pleasant weather, so the walk to the beach and then on to the Swiss Cottage was really invigorating. The walled garden was a bit of a disappointment, but that may have been the time of year. All in all, National Trust have better sites to visit at more reasonable prices.
