Have you ever heard of a destination with two world heritage sites? This is none other than Hoi An and My Son in Quang Nam province!
Hoi An Ancient Town is a splendidly preserved South-East Asian trading port that dates back to the 15th to 19th century. It served Dutch, French, Portuguese, Arab, Japanese, and Chinese traders, who dealt primarily in luxurious silks and ceramics. Its structure and its street design represent the mixed influences, both local and foreign, that collaborated to create this unique heritage site. Nowadays, Hoi An, a charming riverside town, is renowned for its diverse architecture, tailors, and a multitude of cafes.
My Son is considered to be on par with some of Southeast Asia’s most exceptional archaeological sites, including Angkor in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, Ayutthaya in Thailand, and Borobudur in Indonesia. The towers and sanctuaries in this area were established between the 7th to 13th centuries.
