Additional Information

Explore the majestic La Plata Mountains and Canyon near Durango, CO at some of the canyon’s most scenic and beautiful waterfalls. This is a mild scenic tour fun for the entire family who does not want to do the full four hour tour. We will stop at 3 unique waterfalls for plenty of photo opportunities, as we climb higher into the canyon. Our last waterfall stop is on private property accessible only to Durango Rivertrippers. This stop gets you up close to a stunning 25-30ft waterfall with some old mining structures scattered around the base. We reach around 10,000 feet above sea level and stop to take in the views. This is a great adventure for the entire family. All ages are welcome on this trip however car seats are not provided. NOTE: This tour does not go up to the top of Kennebec Pass and is a mild tour.

Worth the time and money. - There was a little confusion on which business in the shopping center we needed to meet our guide. We were met with a friendly staff. Ron made sure the jeep was clean and fresh from the tour before us. Water was given which was nice in August. We sat in the back/open air seats and really took in the views getting to the National Park. Ron was friendly, gave some great history and info on the area and was patient with us and took photos for us several times. The waterfall, from the picture above was the highlight. You could do this on your own but the biggest water fall was private property owned by this company so we felt like the decision to use them was a good one. For a small part of our day and only a 168 it was worth it.

July jeering - It was a lovely July day in Colorado and the scenery was wonderful as usual. Lovely waterfalls that were running well. Our guide was most attentive to our needs - assisting if needed, cold water in an ice chest - and an excellent driver. It was enough of an adventure for me and I’m glad I went, even though I had been plagued by altitude sickness that week since coming from the Gulf Coast of TX.
