• The Otago Peninsula Eco Restoration Alliance - Our Wildlife & Penguin tour provides a unique opportunity in New Zealand to observe the endangered yellow-eyed penguins (hoiho) in their natural environment.

This 90-minute guided tour is divided into three segments. Participants start their journey in a theatre setting, where they gain insights into the yellow-eyed penguin and our conservation initiatives to protect them.

Next, visitors proceed to our rehabilitation center (when penguins are present), where they can observe yellow-eyed penguins and other penguin species up close. The tour concludes with a brief bus ride to our reserve, where guests embark on an approximately 2km (1.25 mile) nature walk. This walk offers the chance to encounter a variety of plants and animals, including yellow-eyed penguins, little penguins, fur seals, sea lions, and several species of shore and land birds, all residing within the reserve.
