The Dublin Coastal Ramble offers a journey along one of Dublin’s most picturesque coastlines, blending breathtaking views with stories that span millennia.
The adventure begins with a climb up the renowned Killiney Hill, where participants are treated to expansive views of Dublin Bay, the Wicklow Mountains, and beyond—perfect for capturing stunning photographs. The route then descends along cliffside paths and coastal roads adorned with grand Italian-style villas, originally constructed by affluent Dubliners returning from the Grand Tour.
Along the way, participants will hear tales of pirates executed in the coves below, famine relief efforts carved into the hillside, and a WWII-era “EIRE” sign. Walk in the footsteps of medieval pilgrims, discover traces of Neolithic settlements, and—if fortune smiles—spot the local herd of wild goats that inhabit Dalkey Island.
The tour concludes in Dalkey, with a chance to relax and enjoy a drink at a local venue.
Please note, this tour is not wheelchair accessible. It includes some uneven terrain, inclines, and steps.
