Into the Heart of the Desert

As the sun began its descent over the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, I found myself in the back of a 4WD vehicle, barreling across the undulating dunes of the Lahbab desert. The vehicle climbed steep dunes only to plunge down the other side, leaving my heart racing and a grin plastered across my face. The entertainment was equally captivating, with live performances that included traditional dance and a mesmerizing firework display in celebration of Eid Al Etihad. The night was capped off with a stargazing session, where we peered through a telescope to catch glimpses of the moon, Saturn, and Jupiter. Listening to our guide, Hakim, share stories of the stars was a magical experience, one that left me in awe of the vastness of the universe.

Sunrise and Camel Treks

The desert has a way of enchanting you, and as I lay in my tent that night, I felt a deep sense of peace.
