Somewhere different to visit. - Decided to visit as staying at a hotel beside Wafi Mall where Aya is situated. Something different to do in the heat of the summer afternoon.
We got a discount with our boarding cards and think there are other discounts for residents etc. wouldn’t want to pay full price.
Not too sure what to expect exactly and a bit apprehensive as I don’t really do flashy lights etc and didn’t know just how this might be. We did actually enjoy it. Different rooms with different themes. Not too sure why you are given little Aya passport books to mark off with stickers because you could hardly see to do it anyway. It was a lot noisier and flashier than expected in some rooms so probably spent less time than I might have. Nice music but very loud. So so many mirrors where you don’t know where you start and stop and makes you feel disoriented at times. Be careful what you wear! Think we saw it all .

AYA Universe is located within the Wafi Mall in Dubai and is one of Dubai’s latest and must see attractions - AYA Universe is located within the Wafi Mall in Dubai and is one of Dubai’s latest and must see attractions, especially during the blistering Summer Heat, as it is totally an indoor attraction. AYA Universe is located within the Wafi Mall in Dubai and is one of Dubai’s latest and must see attractions,
When you pay the admission charge you are actually given an “AYA Cosmic Passport”. Within the pages of your new passport, it explains in great detail the entire concept of AYA, by first stating that you are a citizen of: AYA, which is the center of our colorful cosmos and what to expect within the eleven {11} rooms of AYA.
There are also small stickers that you apply to that particular room, after your visit that specific experience.
The first room is called: “The Source” or also called: ‘Spark Blooms of Life’, in which you see and hear special effects of what appears to be the beginning of life AYA. Starting in this first room proved to be a small problem for me as the floor is not well lit and there is a small step down around the large dome. Please note that I broke my hip last year and I have been using a cane ever since, so my actual footing was not secure in each of the eleven {11} AYA Rooms. In each room they did have an AYA Guide, and these guides did offer me a great amount of assistance in each of the rooms.
The second room is called: “Harmonia” or called: ‘Dance with Light’. It appears to be a room with an infinite number of mirrors.
The third room which is slightly larger is called: “Flora” or also called: ‘Roam Mysterious Gardens”. And it was my favorite room of all eleven! There was a six-Minute Light Show and all-in-all my favorite due to the idea of plants and Flora and each is lit and blinking. The music also indicates the seasons of AYA in this enchanted forest.
From Flora you walk to the next four rooms all dealing with water. The fourth room of the eleven is called: “The River” or the ‘Bridge the Infinite’. As you walk through this room while you’re walking your footsteps will make various colors.
In one area of the River is an area called: “The Pool” or also called: ‘Become the Centre’. Here you stand on top of an infinite vortex or whirlpool. You have the strangest feeling while standing on top as it feels with the lights that it is a water spout of amazing depth. Our room guide told me that this was the most dangerous room as people sometimes faint while they are standing on the top of the Pool!
Now you enter the sixed room called: “Tides” where you walk through a mirrored chamber with many pillars. Each pillar is filled with vast changing colors. I didn’t like Tides, and it was my least favorite of all eleven rooms! Something was not right to me in this room, I did not feel comfortable at all in the Tides room…
In the last area of The River, you enter a very unique and small room number seven and called: “The Falls” in which you actually walk through a real waterfall that appears to run upside down! This is all due to the arrangement of the lighting above the Falls. You actually get a bit wet because it is real water!
The next room or room number eight is called: “Celestia” or also called: ‘Swim amongst the stars’. In this room you must take off your shoes and then you descend a few steps and enter a large area which contains over half-a-million small orbs or plastic balls. My grandson walked through these orbs, and he said it was ‘a funny feeling’ while walking through these spheres {Orbs}.
Room number nine was called: “Outland” or also called: ’Reflect Ethereal Nature’. This was a room where one could relax and reflect over all the earlier rooms. We all enjoyed this room.
Following Outland, you enter room number ten which was called: “Luna” or also called: ‘Travel Beyond Stars’. This was again a room that appeared to have an infinite number of well placed mirrors filled with many sparkling moons. Interesting…
The eleventh or final room was called: “Drift” or: ‘Float Through Time’, again another room of a nice relaxing atmosphere and to reflect on what one has just experienced.
To find the exit of AYA Universe you must walk back through The Source, and you exit via AYA’s very nice Gift Shop. It contained a small number of items to purchase, but all very interesting from Puzzles to Hand Massagers to AYA Key Chains…
We were told by one of the room Guides that this exhibition changes every six months, so we have a better reason to come back to AYA!`
