This makes history exciting: you will find out, among other things, why the Gothic church of St. Lambertus has a leaning tower, how the equestrian statue of the popular Elector Jan Wellem was created, where Heinrich Heine was born and how the tailor Wibbel became famous.

The castle tower on Burgplatz is the only remnant of the castle on Burgplatz, which was built in the 16th century and demolished after a fire in the 19th century. The oldest shipping museum in Germany has been located here since 1984.
