Highly recommended - Have planned a sightseeing tour in Dresden today and met in beautiful weather and a professional and attentive tour guide. Thanks to Mr. Hell for the wonderful ride and the lot of information about the history of the past and present of the city of Dresden. We recommend this ride gladly.

Beautiful Dresden - This was a very relaxing way to see the beautiful city of Dresden. Commentary was available in English and was interesting to hear. The cost of A$64 for 2 was well worth it. The ticket was available for the whole day. Recommend.

Great opportunity to get to know Dresden - To get a first impression of Dresden we booked the ride, if you take the ticket from 4 pm, you can also use it the next day.
A guided city tour and a night watchman tour are also included.
The hop on/hop off is a great way to explore the city.
A highlight was the Nightwatchman tour on 23.03.25. So great told, thrilling stories and tales from the time then. Definitely a must.

Good value bus tour - Very nice bus tour. Good value for money. Most of the places covered are very pretty.
It's mainly for people who speak German. Even though you could put your headset and choose your language the loud speakers in the bus shouts at German.

Good route very targeted to Germans. - The tour was extensive in the route. Although we had the narration in English through ear pieces it was extremely limited and did not provide adequate explanation of the sights. There were many long pauses in the narration. However, the German commentary was over the loud soeaker, not prerecorded, was incessant and did not stop for the entire 2 hours. They clearly received so much more information than those listening to English.

Not quite up to expectations - So far ok, but you don't understand anything about the loudspeaker system unless the bus is stationary. It’s better up front. That clouded it. They, or at least the driver, weren’t enthusiastic about his work either... everyone should notice that.

Not a Happy Camper - The information provided by Viator showed an address for the tour and we spent a hour looking for the Viator office and or the meeting place for the start of the tour. After a phone call to the bus company office and asking numerous people for information, we learned that the voucher obtained online had to be redeemed for an actual ticket. The redemption point was not at all close to the address provided by Viator on the voucher. After redemption, we were presented with a map and brochure showing the location of the stops and we were told to go to Stop #1. The audio didn’t work on one of the two plugs for our seat; there were no other seats available on our bus. The loud speakers were broadcasting commentary in German and this interfered with our ability to listen to our audio in English. It made it very hard to understand. The audio timing was off and not in sync with the sites that were visible. We have traveled on HOHO tours in various countries and this trip was our least favorite.

Nothing to see - Friendly, dedicated ticket seller and great bus driver who explained very well and funny loose.
But none of this was of any use, since you only saw the street pavement from the bus. Bus windows much, much too low. Taped panes with advertising from outside and window partitions at eye level. So nothing to recognize from the sights. This was complained about by all the passengers who were on the bus with us. Too bad.

Bad - We had booked online for the 1.11.24 the city tour by ship and mountain railway. In Dresden we had to print the online ticket into a "ticket". To do this, we had to walk to the main hop on hop off location and were handed a printout over a metre long. We were also advised that we had to be there half an hour before the ship departed. We were with a lot of other people half an hour before departure of the ship at the jetty and have approx. Watched the crew set tables, smoke cigarettes, walk around for 20 minutes... Why we should be there so early has not been revealed to us. We were still lucky with the weather today, in rain or cold I find this behavior of the organizer impossible. We also found the German-speaking crew quite grumpy. For a good day, welcome aboard we waited in vain.
It was particularly annoying that the bus was so crowded that we had to stand for longer distances.
I cannot understand why you switch to the winter timetable for a long weekend (Thursday was Reformation Day, Friday was All Saints Day, where several federal states have public holidays) with a bridge day and then obviously have too few buses in use.
I found it strange that we heard the explanation of Dresden in German over a loudspeaker on the bus. Can only German-speaking guests travel? In other countries we were always offered headphones at Hop on Hop off and you could choose your language.
We can only advise against this tour

Superfluous - In the lower part of the bus you unfortunately see nothing of the sights. Explanations came over tape - terse and with long breaks, moreover in the back of the bus barely understandable. Audio guide available, but could not be tested due to lack of headphones (so bring your own if necessary).
Diesel smell on the bus caused me to feel sick.
Conclusion: Waste of time and money at least if you don't get a seat in the upper deck. With a day ticket for public transport you are better and cheaper on the road.
Travel time was on a Thursday around noon.
