City tour Aachen - We did this tour during our visit to Aachen. It is a fun, long tour of over 2 hours that shows you a lot of Aachen and even takes you to the three-country point in Vaals. Unfortunately, there is only 1 bus that makes 3 journeys a day, so the options are somewhat limited.

It's going ok - If you want to get a rough overview of the city, you can take this bus. Getting off at interesting places and taking the next bus is a bit difficult because the bus doesn't run very often, especially if you want to do this in more than one place. The proportion of uninteresting surroundings is quite high on the journey. And, very importantly: due to the way Aachen's old town is built, the bus does not drive through the old town, which in my opinion is the highlight of an exposure of Aachen. There are passengers who think they have now seen everything when they get off the bus and who do not walk the few meters into the old town because they do not realize how close they are to the old town at the Elisenbrunnen. That is a real shame. So: the bus is without the old town and without the old town, in my opinion, it is not possible to get a real impression of Aachen. The bus cannot be blamed for this, but passengers should know that!

Positive - Nice long circuit, unfortunately some stops could not be reached due to construction work. Would have liked to stay a little longer at the tri-country corner. 20 minutes is a bit short.

Interesting tour but limited for hop-on-hop-off - We found a flyer for this tour at Dreilandenpunt so decided to give it a go. The summer tour only runs on a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (winter timetable is different) and there are only 3 tours a day, which means that the hop-on-hop-off option is very limited. Each tour is around 2 hours long and the commentary is as you would expect for a bus tour and is in several languages - including English, despite this being omitted from the flyer! As we had just visited Drielandenpunt, we decided to get off in Vaals at point 10 and rejoin the tour at point 12, allowing us 40 minutes to explore the town. Unfortunately, it was unclear where point 12 was (it is exactly the same as point 10 - the bus does a u-turn), which was rather stressful at the time. Overall, the tour is interesting and the price is reasonable, especially as children are only €5, but you need to plan your day carefully to take advantage of the hop-on-hop-off feature.

Shame - Too bad she sees them reserving places upstairs with clothes so that you are not allowed to see them, I think it is anti-social so next time I will send my towel to the main office so that they will put the towel down for me

Disappointing - We went to the tourist office to buy our tickets. We were told that if we wanted to take this bus and especially to hear the explanations in French we had to have our headphones. Of course we walk around with headphones. And what's more, for this type of bus, normally it passes regularly, this was 3 times during the day, so in short if you get off you have to wait almost 3 hours to get back on the bus.

Upsetting - Driver would not let us back on the bus! Appeared to be xenophobic "no English." I showed him our tickets and tried telling him we'd been on the bus already, with him! (He knew he we were as handed us headphones just a couple of hours before), but he wouldn't let us on, grabbed my 12 year old boys arm, pulling him back, ushered us off and shut the doors. I tried raising this with the company but they wouldn't listen and made excuses "bus driver is nearing retirement" "bus driver is calm" - essentially dismissing the whole thing - appalling management; disgraceful driver.
