Fun Basque experience - Fun Basque experience. Going to market to pick out the protein was the highlight. Love the creative branding with the spelling of Kookin.

Great value and fun! - If you're looking for a quality tour that is of great value, then look no further! Chef Carlos is equally an expert and friendly. One of the dishes I made was better than I had in the restaurant! This is a must do when in San Sebastian.

Fun Cooking Experience! - Such an amazing experience! Carlos and Molina took us to the market and explained what ingredients we were going to use and then how to pick them out. Did you know that fish mongers have tricks to make their fish more attractive? Also I learned that using fresh, local ingredients is key to making a wonderful Basque dish. Carlos is a friendly great teacher and has a wonderful , comfortable set up. He pairs wine and sidra (hard d cider) with each course. This was well worth the time and the cost. We will be using what we learned and experience at home. Highly recommend!

Oh what fun! - Our family (including our 16-month-old grandson) had the absolute pleasure of spending our second day in San Sebastián with Carlos visiting the market and cooking Basque cuisine. Our expectations were exceeded! Carlos was the perfect host/chef/tour guide; he graciously welcomed us and met our needs (particularly given our grandson), efficiently, clearly, and with a touch of humor, shared cooking techniques and, most surprisingly introduced us to the rich history of San Sebastián and its markets. To top it off, the food we prepared, under his direction, was delicious (and grandson approved😉). We highly recommend Carlos and the Basque cuisine experience.

Definitely worth it! - This was a great experience! The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. I really enjoyed going to the market and understanding what I was looking at and how to choose different meats. Everything was explained clearly so we could all cook a tasty meal!

Great Cooking Class - Carlos was very personable and professional in his presentation. The food that we cooked was delicious and his choice of drink pairings was perfect. Carlos gave us a lot of interesting and historical information about the Basque region.

Fun addition to time in San Sebastian - Modern, spotless facility. Friendly and informative host that gave clear instructions. Great quality food (some of which were purchased at the market beforehand). Carlos is clearly passionate about what he does. Really enjoyed it!

Then what a fun experience your class was. You answered all out questions and managed to make us all feel like professional chefs. Your love of food shone through as you guided us through the class. Uncommonly good Basque cooking class - This cooking experience lasted several hours. We started with a visit to the market, where we got a firsthand look at how San Sebastián shoppers buy their fish, meat, and other products for the kitchen. We saw bacalao (cod) in many varieties, plus merluza (hake), salmon, squid, barnacles, langostinos, and many more kinds of seafood than can be listed here. Our chef bought some bacalao and some merluza before walking us to the kitchen a few blocks away. During our visit to the market, we got to see how discriminating shoppers pick one product over another. At the kitchen, we divided up into pairs. The chef had already done some prep work on a few things, but we did the lion’s share ourselves. We started with an omelette built around onions, green peppers, and bacalao. The process was enjoyable, and the result was very tasty. High marks for the explanations along the way. Next we cooked merluza with clams. Again, we got great directions along the way. Then came a beef course and a dessert course. And of course, we had some good local or regional wines to go with it all - in our case a cider, a txakoli, and then a Malbec. What made this product worth it all was the high quality of the conversation and information in English by a native speaker of Spanish. If you’re looking for an informative and enjoyable way to spend a part of a San Sebastián day, look no further. You’ve found it.

Don't miss this cooking class!!! - My friends who are great foodies visited me and I wanted to impress them with a Basque cooking class...it was amazing!!! The chefs were knowledgeable, fun, dynamic...we learnt a lot, and we had so much fun cooking and meeting new people. Highly recommend this class. THANK YOU!
