Walking tour - I’d definitely recommend anyone who plans to go to the Great Wall to sign up to the walking tour… definitely the most memorable part of my 3 week trip to China

Excellent tour that also leaves some space for personal exploration - Tour was excellent, as was your guide Mike. Got enough background, advice, a good lunch, and different options for climbing the two sides of the wall. We climbed the wall ourselves (not as a group), but given hiking abilities differ a lot, that's good. (There's an option for explanations while hiking as well if you prefer tho). The souvenirs they sell are a good price as well, and service is excellent. The tour guide also helped me book two other tours of the company in Xi'an (which I also recommend) and Shanghai (which I yet have to do), so this was extra helpful.

High praise for the perfect organization and the excellent and very nice guide Lisa. Everything was perfect - from pick up to the end of the tour. And that despite almost 40 degrees !!!! - and price perfectly fine.

Nice trip to The Great Wall - Had a Nice trip to The Great Wall with Mubus. Easy to get to The start location with The metro. Got some story and recommendstions told by our tour guide Jily on The way there.
Bus ride to The parking spot was roughly 1,5 h. The bus take you to The large parking location and a 5min shuttle bus to The last step chair lift location . The chair lift up to The Wall is not included and Cost 140rmb.
There are 2 recommend routes on The Mutianyu section The west our East route. I took The west route as ut was suposed to be less crowded. it was suposed to take 2-2.5h with return. Took me roughly 30min to reach The top . Could probably have done it in 25 it there was no que to each tower. I recon if you are a runner you could do it in 20min and athlets in 15min if there are bo crowds.
Mubus seems to have several tours Daily in different language. It was no issue to take a earlier bus back with another tour group as I finished my hike earlier than the planned 5h trip.
I recommend you to bring sunscreen, Water, snack and potential cap if its warm. There are some snack and water vendor and The last towers.
Toilets are located at the lift Wall at tower 14. I dont think i saw any Toilets between tower 14 and 20.

- Wonderful Experience Thanks to Jily Mobus
Our trip to the Great Wall of China was unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to Jily Mobus. From the start, she was incredibly supportive, professional, and kind—always going above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Jily’s knowledge of the history and culture brought the Great Wall to life. She explained everything so clearly and made the experience not just a tour, but a journey we’ll remember forever. Her cooperative attitude, friendly behavior, and attentiveness to every detail made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout.
She was always there with a warm smile, ready to help or guide us, and truly made the whole group feel connected and relaxed. Traveling with Jily felt like being with a caring friend who just happened to be incredibly organized and knowledgeable.
Thank you, Jily, for making this trip so special. We’re truly grateful for your wonderful support!

Great way to see the Great Wall - This was a great way to see the Great Wall. On the bus, the guide explained the different routes we can take and the pros and cons of each. We went for the route that involved a closed cable car as I’m not a fan of open chair lifts. The Wall is spectacular as expected.
Mubus has its own building at Mutianyu which was great for assembling, with free tea and snacks and a great buffet upstairs with loads of lunch choices.

Nice tour - Michael transformed our Mutianyu visit from a sightseeing trip into an unforgettable journey through time. His **professionalism** was evident immediately – punctual, organized, and equipped with clear maps and visuals. But it was his storytelling prowess, delivered in **perfect English**, that mesmerized us. He vividly described life as a Ming Dynasty soldier garrisoned in the watchtowers we explored on the **western line towards the Ox Horn**, explaining garrison routines, weaponry, and the harsh realities of defending this frontier. He painted pictures of imperial inspections and the sheer logistical feat of supplying remote sections. Michael’s knowledge wasn't recital; it was a passionate narrative woven into the landscape. He constantly checked on the group, offering water breaks, adjusting the pace for different fitness levels, and ensuring everyone heard his explanations, even in breezy spots. His attentiveness extended to the practicalities – seamlessly navigating the cable car, advising on the best photo spots, and organizing our group efficiently for the comfortable **Mubus buffet** ride back. His genuine care for each visitor's comfort and understanding was as impressive as his historical expertise.

Amazing experience with a great guide! Just be prepared for long, long queues. - Our guide, Mike, was very enthusiastic, informative and helpful, and the Great Wall itself is majestic and well worth all the hype. Do be prepared for long queues: the tour was presented as if you could do the East and West sides of the wall in one day, but we spent almost two hours in the queue for the east side cableway (added to the 20 minutes we wasted due to going to the cable CAR, which was completely different than the cable WAY), and by the time we explored the East Side, there was almost no time left to explore the West unless we opted to miss the bus home and take a pricey taxi instead. To his credit, Mike refunded our unused ticket for West side without any hassle. Also, the lunch buffet was amazing, and a great value for the small cost. With slightly clearer directions about where to go, and a more realistic estimation of queue times, this would be a "5." Even as is, it's a great tour, hence the "4" - as non-Chinese speakers, there's no way we could have navigated this process at all without the guides' help.
