- Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang) - The tour guide will meet the group at 9am and proceed to Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square of its kind. Situated in the center of Beijing, it is known for hosting grand parades and rallies. In 1949, Chairman Mao declared the founding of the People’s Republic of China from the Tiananmen (Gate of Heavenly Peace) rostrum here.
For security purposes, Tiananmen Square is enclosed by low iron grids with four main entrances: east, west, south, and north. The square is accessible to the public until sunset, but all visitors must undergo a security check before entering. Checkpoints are established at each entrance.
- Monument of the People’s Heroes - View the exterior of the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the impressive Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, the historic Zhengyang Gate and Arrow Tower, and the Tiananmen Tower leading to the famous Forbidden City.
- Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Next, visit the Imperial Palace, also known as the “Forbidden City,” the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palace complex with a 500-year history. Tickets will be purchased in advance to avoid waiting in line. The palace, originally constructed between 1406 and 1420, has been destroyed, rebuilt, looted, and renovated numerous times, with most of the current structures dating from the 1700s onward. Enjoy a highlight tour of the Forbidden City.
