If you’re looking to have fun in Punta Cana, look no further! - Booked the discovery package and can honestly say we had such an amazing time. We did Isla saona the first day and Alberto and his crew were great! Such a great tour guide with a good sense of humor. The picture that Big Papi took were incredible!!! Def worth every penny! The buggie tour was just as fun! Matias was so funny and also a great tour guide. Def booking with them again when I come back!

Will definitely book again with Caribbean Route! - 5 stars! I booked a combo for a day of buggy tour and a day on Saona island from their website. Only paid $99/person. On the first day for the buggy tour, there was an open truck shuttle that picked us up from our hotel to their buggy station. This was about a 30 mins or less ride depending on where your hotel is. They will put you in groups and while waiting you can buy in their souvenir shop (cash only). Keep in mind you can negotiate the prices so don’t settle for the first price as they tend to be expensive. Next, we got on a buggy and drove for about 45mins around a small village. There were kids selling fruits while you’re on the buggy. You can just kindly say “no,gracias.” It rained the day before so the route was pretty muddy which made our experience more fun! After the buggy, they brought us to Domitai park to shower and swim in this beautiful cave pool. They also showed us how they made chocolates and coffee from Cacao. You can also have a taste of their products for free. There is a store in the park where you can get the products like coffee, cacao balls, chocolate powder, mamajuana, etc. The last part of the trip was a dance to show how people from the old village lived. They will take your photos all throughout the day so at the end you can buy them all if you’d like. The truck brought us back to the hotel. Everything went smoothly for the whole 3-3.5 hour trip.
Two days after is when we had our Saona island day trip. A tour bus picked us up in front of our hotel. We stopped by a lot of “pick-up” locations where the other tourist were. I didn’t mind this because the bus had AC and was very comfortable. After we picked everyone up, we drove to a bus stop. Here they have a souvenir shop and bathroom. After a 15 mins stop, we drove to the town of Bayahibe where a speed boat was waiting for us. The speed boat ride was very exciting and relaxing. The views were amazing! We stopped by the “natural pool” which was a giant sand bar in the middle of the sea. Stayed there for about 30 mins. They served rum, sprite and coke. We then went to Saona island aka Paradise. Our group was one of the first groups who got on the island so we were able to get beach chairs and enjoy the calmness of the island. Lunch was buffet style. There were vendors on the island. You can just respectfully decline. The workers on the island were very kind people. We stayed here for about 2.5 hours. On the way back we got on a Catamaran and partied our way all the way back to the shore of Bayahibe. Our group loved the music and dancing so it was a very fun ride back!
We also went in August so the amount of tourists are not as bad during peak season. Our tour guide, Benjamin made the trip very memorable! He is very funny and knowledgeable! We got back to our hotel around 6:30. Going to Saona Island is a WHOLE DAY
TRIP so do not plan any other thing on the same day.
Check out their website for the $99 combo for buggy ride and saona island. Definitely worth the price!

Amazing - Buggy’s we’re my boyfriend’s favorite. He went through every puddle he seen. Loved this excursion so much but the only thing that was very un happy about was the people pressing you to buy things at the Macao beach. Which it’s not the excursion peoples fault but it was realky a bummer

Great! - The island is very beautiful! When we got there and i didn’t get chance drive the buggy because they said it’s different day. I was very bummed about that but the island is worthy.

Explosive diarrhea - First off, the driver, who picked us up from the resort was extremely rude, driving recklessly he seem like he was having a really bad morning. Then we go to a larger bus, no one is telling us what’s going on, but apparently we figure out we’re waiting to get on a bigger mess . That bus ride was an hour. Then we get onto a catamaran, the catamaran ride to the island was like an hour and a half boat ride very long & slow.. and they are passing bottom shelf liquor out at 10AM in the morning. I guess they try because they know the boat ride is so long. The Island itself is beautiful, I wish I would’ve booked a more private tour so that I can spend more time on the actual island. I honestly felt rushed the entire time. Secondly, the food they gave out on the island gave me abdominal pain explosive diarrhea the next day!!!!!!!!!!’ so be careful what you eat!!!!
The buggies were cool. My boyfriend enjoyed it. Well organized I just didn’t like them obviously trying to sell me everything in the gift shop. I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend I would recommend to spend a bit more and book a more private tour.
