Your journey begins at Camp Děčín, where we supply you with a canoe, paddles, and a waterproof bag. A brief orientation takes place on the spot. From this point, you embark on the unguided tour at your own speed, free from other travellers. This excursion spans 15 km and offers a relaxing ride, with the potential to reach neighboring Germany within 3 hours. During this journey, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the splendid Bohemian Switzerland National Park from a watery vantage point in Europe’s deepest sandstone canyon.
You’ll find the transfer point on the right river bank of the scenic village of Schmilka, right by the ferry station. Here, you may choose to visit a local microbrewery or a café offering panoramic views.
We suggest returning via train from the station on the left bank, accessible by the ferry. As a tip, we recommend planning a walking trip to the most noteworthy natural monument in the Bohemian Switzerland, the Pravčice Arch. This path crosses the state border towards Hřensko, where a well-marked walking trail leads to the Pravčická gate. This walk is 7 km long, adding approximately 2.5 hours to your journey.

As you paddle beyond Děčín, you are welcomed by the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, which houses the deepest sandstone canyon of Europe. The water excursion will gift you the sight of splendid rock towers and walls, varying in form, alongside shorelines often visited by herons.
Upon the completion of the canoe trip, we will take responsibility for the boats and all related gear, leaving you with bicycles for further exploration.
