After lunch, proceed to the Pagoda of the Lying Buddha and the Lighthouse, which offers breathtaking views along the coast.
- Christ The King Statue - The Jesus Christ Statue is a memorable part of a Vung Tau city tour. The statue of Christ the King, a significant symbol of Vung Tau, is visible from all directions in the city. However, the best experience is climbing to the top of Little Mountain to admire the statue. Then, ascend the observatory within the statue to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding sea. The statue of Christ the King was constructed in the early 1970s but was not completed until more than 20 years later. Its arms span 18 meters wide and it stands 32 meters high, two meters taller than the Christ statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
- White Palace - The White Palace in Vung Tau is situated at 4 Tran Phu Street, on the slope of Big Mountain. Standing 50 meters above sea level, the White Palace, known in French as La Villa Blanche, dates back to 1898 and was considered a summer holiday villa for French Governor General Paul Doumer. This palace was named after his beloved daughter. Unfortunately, while the structure was being built, Doumer had to return to France and later became the President of France. It was not until 1916 that it was officially used for holiday retreats by some Indochina-French Governors. Visitors to the White Palace will be captivated by its all-white appearance, which is why locals call it “Bach Dinh” (“Bach” means white in Vietnamese).
- The Whale Temple - Thang Tam Temple, also known as the Whale Fish Temple, is dedicated to worshiping the Nam Hai spirit, meaning “Ong” (the whale) according to the beliefs of sea fishermen.
- Vung Tau Lighthouse - Hai Dang Vung Tau, or the Lighthouse, is a major tourist attraction in the coastal city of Vung Tau. With its impressive architecture and panoramic views, this historic lighthouse offers visitors a unique chance to appreciate the city’s beauty and the surrounding sea.
- Vung Tau Market - The local market in Vung Tau city offers fruit, fish, and more. It opens early in the morning and closes at 11:00 AM.
- Ho May Park - Enjoy the stunning view of Vung Tau, and remember to purchase your own cable car ticket.
