- Independence Palace - Begin the morning with a visit to the Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace, built on the site of the former Norodom Palace. This iconic landmark of Ho Chi Minh City was designed by architect Ngo Viet Thu.
- Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral - Continue to admire the stunning architecture from the French Colonial era, such as the Notre Dame Cathedral. Constructed in the late 1880s by French colonists, it remains a significant Catholic stronghold in predominantly Buddhist Vietnam. Situated in Paris Square, it was named Notre Dame after the ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ statue was installed in 1959.
- Central Post Office - The Saigon Central Post Office, built between 1886 and 1891, showcases Gothic, Renaissance, and French colonial design elements. Although often mistakenly attributed to Gustave Eiffel, it was actually designed by French architect Alfred Foulhoux.
- War Remnants Museum - Next, visit the War Remnants Museum, which offers an extensive display of the Indochina wars. The museum, located in the former US Information Agency building, was established in 1975 shortly after Vietnam’s reunification. Initially named the Gallery of American-Puppet Crimes, it highlights war crimes committed by American and French forces in Vietnam. The exhibits cover the period from the start of the first Indochina war to the end of the second.
- Cu Chi Tunnels - Depart for the Cu Chi Tunnels, a journey of approximately one and a half hours by bus. Upon arrival, guests will receive a brief introduction and watch a video about the tunnels’ construction and the survival of the people during wartime. Visitors can then explore the remaining areas and tunnel systems, which include specially constructed living spaces with kitchens, bedrooms, and other military facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers. The tunnels also feature hidden trap doors and dangerous traps for security purposes during the war. Afterward, guests will be served special tea and cassava, a staple food for guerrillas during the war. There will be a break for relaxation or an opportunity for those who wish to experience being a soldier.
- Bui Vien Street - After visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels, the group will return to Saigon, arriving at their hotels between 7:00pm and 7:30pm, marking the end of the trip.
