Highlights
  • Buenos Aires - Let’s discover the life of soccer star Diego Armando Maradona. We will walk the streets of the La Paternal neighborhood, the same ones that Diego walked when he was just starting out in soccer. We will visit the house where he lived with his entire family while he was a soccer player for Argentinos Juniors, and we will tour the stadium that bears his name, where he made his professional debut as a soccer player.

La Casa de D10S, the first home owned by Diego Armando Maradona and his family (1978-1980). The home that Argentinos Junios gave to Diego Maradona for his 18th birthday was recovered, valued, and recognized by the City Parliament as a historic place and in homage to the best soccer player in history.

The “Temple of Soccer” Museum is located in the Diego A. Maradona Stadium, where, at the age of 15, the greatest idol of world soccer made his debut with the Argentinos Juniors jersey. The peculiar characteristic of the museum is that it was made entirely by fans and members of the institution through voluntary work. In addition to the Museum, we will visit the playing field, the changing rooms, the central hall, the press room and the stands of the Stadium.

Great experience, highly recommended - Our driver/guide Fernando is a diehard Maradona fans who took great care of us and told us a lot about the life of Maradona on our way to the stadium and Maradona's house. The guide in the stadium and the Maradona's house gave us a private tour were very friendly and informative. We were given plenty of time to explore both places. This combo tour is highly recommended especially if you want to visit both places at the same time with an English speaking guide. We learned a lot about Maradona from this tour.

Personable and professional - My initial tour arrangement to visit some Maradona landmarks in Buenos Aires fell through at the last minute and Fernando was able to step in (I had already made his acquaintance with an airport transfer) at very short notice to give me a personal tour of both the Argentinos Juniors stadium and the museum located where Maradona lived with his large family upon signing his first professional contract. First, Fernando is just a huge futbol fan and his fandom centers around Argentinos Juniors and rightly the relatively small club are immensely proud of giving the greatest player of all time his start. So the passion Fernando has for both Argentinos Juniors and the country in general shines through. But also he is extremely knowledgeable and has superb English skills. Second, Fernando is just really personable and friendly. While I was his client it felt like I'd met up with an old friend and he was showing me around the city and we just chatted about futbol and Argentina and our lives in general. If you want an easy going but reliable guide while you're in Buenos Aires and you have a genuine interest in Argentinian culture and Diego Maradona specifically I can't imagine a better tour guide than Fernando.
