Keane Bridge - Visit the historic Keane Bridge, constructed during the colonial era, serving as a primary entrance to the city. The Keane Bridge is a significant landmark in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Following a visit by Earl Robert Miller, the U.S. ambassador to Bangladesh, it was recommended for pedestrian use only, prohibiting vehicles. Built in 1936, the bridge is named after Sir Michael Keane, the English Governor of Assam from 1932 to 1937. Made of iron and steel, it resembles a bow, measuring 1150 feet in length and 18 feet in width. The construction cost was approximately Taka 5.6 million.
Surma River - The Surma River is a major river in Bangladesh, part of the Surma-Meghna River System. It originates when the Barak River from northeast India splits at the Bangladesh border into the Surma and Kushiyara rivers. It concludes in Kishoreganj District, near Bhairab Bazar, where the two rivers merge to form the Meghna River. The river’s waters eventually flow into the Bay of Bengal.
The river’s average depth is 282 feet (86 m), with a maximum depth of 550 feet (170 m).
Hazrat Shahjalal Mazar Sharif - Shaykh al-Mashaʾikh Makhdum Shaykh Jalal Mujarrad bin Muḥammad Kunyāī, commonly known as Shah Jalal, is a revered Sufi Muslim figure in Bengal. Shah Jalal is often linked with the Conquest of Sylhet and the spread of Islam in the region, reflecting a long history of interactions between the Middle East, Turkestan, and South Asia. Numerous complexes and religious sites bear his name, including Bangladesh’s largest airport, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Hazrat Shah Paran - Shah Paran was a 14th-century Sufi saint in the Sylhet region. In 1303, he participated in the final battle of the Conquest of Sylhet, led by his maternal uncle Shah Jalal.
Scenic Beauty at Jaflong
Jaflong - Depart at 9:00 AM from the hotel for a picturesque drive to Jaflong (58 km, 2 hours). Spend your time leisurely enjoying Jaflong’s beauty. Capture photographs of the stone collection activities on the river, where stones are manually collected and taken to crushers, offering a highly photogenic scene. We will take you on a local boat to photograph these activities.
Jaflong - Enjoy lunch at a fine restaurant operated by Nazimgarh Resort, overlooking the river. Visit the Khashia tribe village to observe their lifestyle. Explore their gardens and see how they cultivate betel leaves. Return to Sylhet in the evening.
Boat Ride at Lalakhal and Return Train to Dhaka
Lala Khal - Check out from the hotel and depart at 8:00 AM, driving to Sarighat (37 km, 1 hour). Upon arrival, transfer to the boat. Enjoy a boat ride on the blue-water canal Lalakhal. We will take you to the canal’s end near the Indian border and back, totaling about 2.5 hours. A motorized local wooden boat will be used for the journey. Return to Sylhet, have lunch, and transfer to the train station.
Sylhet - Depart for Dhaka at 3:00 PM on the Parabat Express. Arrive in Dhaka around 9:30 PM and transfer to your hotel. End of the tour.
