A Must Do - I would recommend this tour as a must when you visit Derry. Our tour guide, john, was knowledgeable, passionate yet humorous. He lived through the troubles and sadly his brother was killed on Bloody Sunday. Whatever you think you already know through the press and media is a tiny fraction of the full story. You will be moved to tears but you will definitely laugh and come away feeling you need to sit with your friends, enjoy a beverage and continue the discussion about your heightened awareness of a traumatic time in the history of Northern Ireland.

Incredibly moving tour. - 5 - John was an absolutely amazing guide, extremely knowledgeable and informative. It was an emotional experience, more so because of John’s connection to Bloody Sunday. I’ll definitely be back to Derry.

An impressive experience - A very emotional explanation of the guide who has lost his brother during "The troubles". We felt his loss and the loss for the community. We will never forget this unique experience, especially because we have the same age. Kind regards, the " genieters" Ans, Hans, Erica en Ad. ( The Netherlands)

An absolute must-do in Derry - My friends and I, who were teens in the ‘90s, had a basic understanding of The Troubles and the peace process going into this tour. John’s tour, however, was an informative and personal deep dive into Bloody Sunday and The Troubles in a way that is hard to explain. As someone who lost a brother and lived this entire part of history, John has an intimate knowledge of the struggles the Bogside community faced working to gain basic civil rights and freedom from the British. The tour covers the events that unfolded on Bloody Sunday in detail, and the impacts that day had in Northern Ireland for decades to come. John gives voice and life to those who lost theirs that day. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

Amazing tour - John was an excellent guide and delivered a really informative tour. It was really insightful to learn about Bloody Sunday from someone directly affected. It was fascinating hearing anecdotes from his childhood and heartbreaking to hear of the tragic death of his brother. The walking distance and duration of the tour weren't too long and therefore may even be suitable for someone with limited mobility or elderly people. When we arrived it was rainy and John kindly provided us with umbrellas, he also offered us a discounted entry price to the museum. Would really recommend this tour as a way to learn about Derry's past and how it translates to the city as it currently stands.
