Our delightful experience on India. - I visited India with my friends, we enjoyed a lot, since the Old Delhi trip, to Agra's visiting, Taj Majal wss amazing, the guides all very well instructed, history-knowing and very kind, everyone gives you a very good welcome, they suggest the best locations for buying, eating the best indian food. The monuments, forts, csstles, and the visiting to elephants town was extraordinary. We only have the debt to see tigers at Ranthambore National Park, cause we weren't lucky this time. Definitively we'll be back another season to learn and appreciate more about this culture.

Bucket list and some interesting sites - Golden Triangle Tour & Safari (Delhi → Agra → Ranthambore → Jaipur → Delhi) I completed the four-day Golden Triangle tour starting and ending in Delhi, with stops in Agra, Ranthambore, and Jaipur. Overall, the experience was memorable, though there are several important considerations for anyone planning a similar trip. Delhi – Day 1 Positives My guide spoke excellent English, and my driver was outstanding—punctual, friendly, and with me for the entire tour despite the long distances between cities. The Gateway of India and Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation site were meaningful stops. My guide shared plenty of historical context, and as a solo traveler I appreciated his willingness to take photos. Areas for Improvement Delhi is not very tourist-friendly for walking around independently. I’ve traveled to 30+ countries, and this is one of the few cities where I didn’t feel comfortable exploring on my own. A significant portion of the tour (about 50%) was spent traveling between cities. I personally don’t mind long drives, but others may find this tiring. I was taken to several shopping stops in Delhi and Agra, which I didn’t enjoy since I prefer history and cultural experiences over shopping. Agra – Day 2 Positives Visiting the Taj Mahal was a bucket-list moment—stunning, and made better by a knowledgeable guide who added depth to the experience. Agra Fort was another impressive historical site I hadn’t been familiar with beforehand. My hotel, the Golden Tulip (4-star), was excellent with a great breakfast. Areas for Improvement I was dropped off for lunch at a restaurant that wasn’t very good, so I had to find a better option myself. Like Delhi, Agra did not feel comfortable to explore solo, and time in the city was mostly limited to relaxing at the hotel. Ranthambore – Day 3 (Safari) Positives This was my first safari, and it was refreshing to be surrounded by nature. The open-air safari bus allowed me to meet other travelers, which was nice after mostly solo touring. We saw various wildlife including antelope, wild boar, jackals, kingfisher, other birds, and horses. No tiger or leopard sightings, but it was still a great experience. My hotel provided blankets and water for the chilly early-morning safari, which was thoughtful. Areas for Improvement The Ranthambore Jungle Retreat was difficult to locate, and reaching it involved rough off-road driving. I struggled to figure out the hot water system. That said, the room was spacious, the bed comfortable, breakfast excellent, and the staff very attentive. Jaipur – Evening Day 3 & Day 4 Positives Jaipur was the highlight of the tour, largely because of my guide, Nameera. I arrived the evening of November 19 and immediately felt welcomed. Nameera was knowledgeable, charismatic, and took genuine pride in her role. She tailored the experience based on my interests, and spending time with her felt more like hanging out with a cool friend than having a formal guide. Our first stop was the Tattoo Café, with its rooftop view of the famous Hawa Mahal. I even got a drone video taken there. The masala tea and pizza were good, but Nameera’s company made the evening special. The next morning, we began at 9:30 am. The Amber Palace tour was comprehensive, and I learned a great deal about the 16th-century royal family. The palace’s architecture comprosed of marble, sandstone, and surprisingly advanced ventilation and plumbingwas outstanding. We also visited the Water Palace (viewed from shore), a medieval water reservoir, and a temple. The elephant sanctuary was another memorable stop. While I normally avoid elephant rides, I felt more comfortable knowing the funds support animal care and rehabilitation. Feeding and interacting with the elephants was a highlight, and they seemed well cared for. We finished with a delicious Indian buffet lunch. Every part of Jaipur felt cohesive and thoughtfully curated thanks to Nameera’s personality and attention to detail. If you visit Jaipur, request Nameera. She is informative, personable, and truly elevates the experience. Areas for Improvement My hotel in Jaipur, Lillypool Jalmahal Heritage, was my least favorite. My original room had some kind of animal in the ceiling, and I could hear it moving and scratching. The front desk quickly upgraded me, which I appreciated, but the hot water still wasn’t very hot. Overall Recommendation The Golden Triangle tour is a good experience, but expect significant driving between cities and inconsistency in hotel quality, even among hotels rated 4-stars. If I were to recommend anything: Definitely visit the Taj Mahal, Spend ample time in Jaipur, and Absolutely request Nameera as your guide. She made the trip exceptional.
