Jaipur - After breakfast, guests will be transferred to Jaipur. Upon arrival, they will check into their hotel. Later, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Jaipur, including:
CITY PALACE - A charming blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace covers one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It includes the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple, and the City Palace Museum.
JANTAR MANTAR - This is the largest and best-preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II across the country. The observatory, with its large astronomical instruments, is still operational.
HAWA MAHAL - Known as the “Palace of Winds,” this ornamental facade is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. The five-story structure, made of pink sandstone with intricate latticework and elaborate balconies, features 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh, it served as a royal grandstand for the palace women. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
Jaipur
Jaipur - After a leisurely breakfast, proceed for a morning excursion to Amber Fort:
AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the quintessential romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Construction began with Man Singh I in 1592 and was completed by his descendant Jai Singh I. Its imposing exterior conceals an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles is perfectly expressed. Continue sightseeing.
JAIGARH FORT - The western skyline is dominated by the extensive walls, watch-towers, and gateways of Jaigarh. It is one of the few military structures from medieval India that remains almost intact, containing palaces, gardens, reservoirs, an armory, a well-planned cannon foundry, several temples, a tall tower, and the giant mounted cannon Jai Ban, the largest in the country.
LAXMI NARAYAN TEMPLE - Located in the south of Jaipur, Laxmi Narayan Temple is one of many temples built by the wealthy Birla family in India, also known as Birla Mandir. The temple is a testament to India’s secular traditions over the centuries. Constructed in white marble, it features three domes, each representing different approaches to religion. The temple is situated at the foot of Moti Doongri Fort, which was converted into a small palace by Ram Singh II for his wife Gayatri Devi. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
Jaipur to Agra (By Car Approx 5 Hours)
Agra - After breakfast, drive to Agra with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri. This deserted red sandstone city, built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the late 16th century, offers an exhilarating experience. It is a veritable fairytale city, and its “ruins” are in pristine condition, making it easy to imagine the grandeur of court life during its heyday. Also visit the Bulund Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world. Continue the drive to Agra and check into the hotel. The evening is free to explore Agra’s rich handicrafts. Overnight stay in Agra.
Agra to Delhi (By Car About 3 Hours)
New Delhi - Early morning, visit the TAJ MAHAL at sunrise. Built by the fifth Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, in 1631 in memory of his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal, a Persian princess, the Taj Mahal is a “symbol of eternal love.” Mumtaz Mahal passed away while accompanying her husband in Behrampur during a campaign, after giving birth to their 14th child. Her death deeply affected the emperor, turning his hair and beard white within months. Before her passing, Mumtaz Mahal extracted four promises from the emperor: to build the Taj, to not marry again, to be kind to their children, and to visit her tomb on her death anniversary. He fulfilled the first and second promises. Construction began in 1631 and took 22 years, employing 20,000 workers. An Iranian architect designed it, and it is best appreciated when its architecture and adornments are linked to the passion that inspired it.
Also visit Agra Fort, the majestic red-sandstone fort on the banks of the Yamuna River, started by Emperor Akbar in 1566. At the Diwan-I-Am (hall of public audience), a colonnaded hall of red sandstone with a throne alcove of inlaid marble at the back, the Emperor heard public petitions. At the Diwan-I-Khas (hall of private audience), marble pavilions with floral inlays create an ethereal ambiance. After sightseeing, return to Delhi. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Delhi.
