• Alexandria - The Egyptologist will greet guests at the port exit with a sign displaying their name, before embarking on a delightful day tour of Alexandria. The first stop is Pompey’s Pillar, erected in honor of Emperor Diocletian at the close of the 4th century, originally part of the Serapis temple. Next, visitors will drive to the Catacombs, the oldest Roman tomb featuring three levels carved into the rock. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant in Alexandria, followed by a visit to the Qaitbay Citadel, constructed on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, and then to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Finally, guests will explore the National Museum of Alexandria, showcasing artifacts from the ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Christian, and Islamic periods. The tour concludes with a transfer back to the cruise ship at Alexandria Port.
