Additional Information

Situated in the heart of The Rocks, Sydney, beneath the famous Harbour Bridge, our distillery tour and tasting claims a truly extraordinary setting. Our distillery boasts easy accessibility via ferry, bus, train, and tram, with plenty of surrounding attractions in The Rocks to keep you entertained either side of the tour.

The distillery resides within an historic bond store that once stored international goods shipped to Australia. One of Australia’s largest and oldest gantry cranes stands within our building, and the steel structures holding up the complex originate from the same batch used to construct the nearby Harbour Bridge.

The curated tour guides you from the inception of whisky - starting with the grain, all the way to the barrelling process. Our on-site gin still is responsible for creating all of our acclaimed gin.

Hickson House also accommodates a full bar and dining room for those looking forward to a meal or a drink either before or after the distillery experience.

Great experience. - My daughter bought this for me as a Christmas present..well worth whatever she paid for, for this gin lover! Given a lovely refreshing tall glass of gin and tonic on arrival. The young lady who gave us the tour( forgotten her unusual name!) was thorough in her explanation of gin making. We were given 4 different gins to try - wouldn’t be driving after though! Just over an hour, but we could stay there for as long as we wanted without any pressure of us drinking up and going. There was a menu there as well if we wanted something to eat, and plenty of other spirits to chose from as well. Recommend this to anyone who likes gin, or, even if you don’t, sit back, chill out with your drink, solo or with a group of friends.

Gin Distillery Tour a must at Hicksons The Rocks Sydney. Enjoyed by my bestie and myself. - We were first timers to tour a Gin Distillery. Welcomed at the door by staff. Greeted our tour guide who then prepared a welcoming Gin And Tonic. A tour in the Distillery area. Very informative. Given tasting samples of 4 of their Gins made on the premises. Provided a mixer drink for us as straight was a bit strong for us. Give jars to smell of their ingredients . All natural. Wish we had known they had a restaurant prior to going. A meal there would of finished off a informative tour. Prices to purchase very reasonable. Along with the Gin also gin infused olives and Gin infused pickled onions. All in all a lively afternoon.

Cool gin tasting tour on a sweltering Sydney day - We did our gin tour yesterday - just the two of us with our guide Jessie. Amazing little place hidden away. Jessie was very friendly and knew her stuff and answered all our questions about gin making with patience. Highly recommend going and having a drink or a bite here. And also boking the gin tasting tour - well worth it

gin tour - Excellent and informative tour followed by the bonus of a tasting which gave us a good story to the background of each gin as well as their various application and best mixers. An enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours on a Friday afternoon.

Unbelievable Tour & Tasting - Tour & Tasting on 07/01. On the Hickson Road 'do you want to do a review' email they have a link that says 'use this link if your tour/visit' was not what you expected, and I was going to use this link, as our distillery tour was certainly not what we expected .. IT WAS A 1000 TIMES BETTER. Our beautiful host, can't think of her correct name, lives in Newton, so everyone at Hickson will know who we are referring to, was absolutely fantastic. From giving us a lovely G&T when we arrived, to a complete & thorough history of gin making and a tour of the distillery, to pouring us and reviewing with us 4 of the Hickson House gins, to letting us smell samples of all the botanicals used at Hickson, to finally, showing off her cocktail shaker skills, (Tom Cruise x Cocktail movie is an amateur in comparison), made our tour a tour we will long remember. It was so good we have recommened it to all our friends. And to everyone reading this review, ensure that you don't miss this tour & tasting. It is .... absolutely fantastic.

Masterly guided tour truly inspiring and inviting - I visited the Hickson House distillery with my son and we will recommend the tour to all our friends. Chessie was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable, friendly and experienced. Her warm and professional attire made the tour even more enjoyable. We learned a lot about the distillery, the process and the various botanicals used for the different recipes. We can't wait to see how the whiskey will turn out, even if we have to be patiently waiting for 2 or 3 years longer. We are certain with such engaged and enthusiastic staff it will turn out a winner. Our favourite Gin was the Classic London Dry, closely followed by the Wild Rose Summer Cup. Chessie had as well some food pairing to some of the Gin and a recipe for a Summer Gin fruit punch, which we are need to test yet. Thank you to all the team of Hickson House Distillery and especially to our tour guide.
