Memorable tour to a very special part of the world - Was an amazing tour, such a beautiful and special part of the world! We had a nice small group where everyone got along which was nice. Elliot was a great guide, sharing fun stories and also his knowledge about the places we visited. His understanding and care for the local indigenous community was impressive. A really memorable tour.

Outstanding guide and service! - I've just finkshed my tour. My guide was Elliot and he made sure we were safe but still able to experience all the best that the NT has to offer. If a location was not accessible he found incredible alternatives. He ran a tight ship and we were always on time. So it was the perfect balance of fun and efficiency. Elliot is also an incredible source of knowledge and in everything he does, it is clear the love and passiom he has for this land and he wants to give the customer the most authentic experience. He even curated the playlist so that we could learn more about Aboriginal and local music. I am Vegan and the catering was sensational. There was an alternative for me for everything. I was thorougjly impressed of the care that the company has poured on this trip. The landscape and the wildlife is spectacular. Loved every minute of thid trip.

Super trip in Kakadu and Lietchfiled parks - Awesome experience for the whole family! Our guide, Adam, was really knowledgeble and friendly. Shared stories to get a derper understanding of aboriginske. A good travelgroup of 16 lovely people on the bus. Happy chappies! Recommend the trip highly!

Gorgeous - A superb adventure to discover a little of this magnificent Australia! Everything was perfect! Sublime and varied landscapes. Thanks to Lee our guide who shared his passion with us. Amazing and very informative - An amazing trip through beautiful landscapes with all kinds of wildlife. Ghe acticities are well balanced between hikes, sights and cultural. Our visit was in the dry season (october), which did mean the hikes were fairly hot but never uncomfortable. Our guide made sure everyone brought enough water and knew a few places were we could rest and cool of in the shade. Besides, dry season means that wildlife is gathered around the few places with water that are left, which means you have a bigger chance to see some of the amazing critters that live here. The thing that made our tour however, was our guide. Leigh looked after us during the activities, camping and on the road. More important, he has a astonishing amount of knowlegde about the culture, landschape, animals and plants. Which meant we learned a lot about everything we saw. Just amazing!

A perfect sample of Kakadu and Litchfield - This was just a small group of 7 peoplw from all around the world. Our tour leader Richard was super helpful and a top bloke. Enjoyed our 3 days very much.

Kakadu and Litchfield by Autopia - Fantastic friendly and knowledgable tour guide, well-planned, grear camping site with all amenities. The timing was perfect. I highly recommend.

Best Tour Experience in the NT - At the end of August my partner and I went on the three day Kakadu and Litchfield tour and we couldn’t recommend it more! Our guide Becs was an absolute gem and her local knowledge from living in Jabiru was paramount. The group of twelve was a great, small size and we all formed a great bond during the trip, it was so hard to say goodbye at the end! Highlights of the trip were Jim Jim Falls and Ubirr in Kakadu, along with Buley Rockholes in Litchfield. The camp setup was fantastic with everything we needed provided, and the communal kitchen area was a great place to eat and form new friendships. We also had a camp host who would have a warm meal ready for us from our days of adventure. The days were long and parts of walks could be considered strenuous, but it was all worth it to see hidden parts of the park. Absolutely would recommend to anyone who’s looking for an adventure or might be apprehensive about a tour as we originally were. We had an amazing time and enjoyed the company of all we did the tour with!

Irresponsible and poor customer service - Irresponsible and poor customer service 6 weeks ago, 15th Oct 23, I went on a 3 day trip with Autopia Tours in the Northern Territory. Below is a series of safety incidents from leaving people in the outback, running out of water, heat stroke, and also losing my luggage resulting in a big hiatus in my travels and No compensation including no tour refund. I do not recommend this company. I have waited till now in hope something would have been resolved but it has not. The Australia and NZ trip is a once in a lifetime trip but Autopia Tours ruined it for me from safety incidents to poor post trip incident management. The safety incidents start from poor fatigue management. The tour guide collect the packed van in the morning, drives to pick up the guests, drives to camp and everywhere. These days are long and as a consequence of back to back tours the guide in the evening was short tempered and I also saw him fall asleep at the wheel. He also forgot his wallet when we pulled up to the bottle shop and the guests bought him beers for the trip. He was always the last person drinking in an evening. The second safety incident involved leaving three women at one spot. After lunch we were informed we had 10-15 minutes to go back to the swimming hole. This was reconfirmed by another traveller and we went to the Blueys swimming hole. As I was getting out he said come on. He knew I had a bad ankle and I needed to put my shoes on to walk back to the path. I was asked, ‘Have you seen the other two girls?’ I said no. The guide proceeded up the hill and when I  returned to where the coach was parked it was gone. I stood alone wondering where he had gone and I suppressed my rising panic.  I walked along the drive and thankfully saw the other two women. I shouted to them. They were incredibly angry and upset at being left. One had even chased the bus as it drove away.  Unbelievable. All their belonging were in the van. The three of us are professionals and were deeply disturbed by this incident. We had put our trust into one person to look after us and we had been left in these extreme conditions with no communication. Australia is no joke. We came to a T junction, which way do we go? Thankfully the other woman had spotted a second car park with the trail head to the waterfalls.  We walked along the road and the women was about to start the multi km track to the second spot. However, we did not have any water or supplies, incorrect walking shoes and I didn’t have my walking sticks. I had no idea what the track was like and could worsen my ankle injury. We considered separating, thankfully we didn’t. We considered getting in a car with a stranger to try and go to the next location, as many people were exiting. Or we could have walked along the road, but which way? We were all distressed at being left, with no water and with no communication in the outback. We were in crisis mode and you don’t think straight when in crisis mode. This period was about 20 minutes until he returned and shouted at us and tried to blame us for making him late and selfishly holding up the group. Yet, he told us the time we were allowed to go after lunch and we stuck to it. He had taken the rest of the group to the falls and came back but we did not know this was his plan. He would return. Very quickly you can see how this could have gone very wrong if we had taken the path or got in a car as we tried to regroup  in a panic moment. We tried to not let this impact us at the next site but we were in shock, upset and angry especially as he tried to blame us. We were not behind the wheel. This was definitely a significant safety incident. The group was also split on the first day, when I went to the toilet and when I came out no one was there. So I ended up walking a track on my own and thankfully it was a loop track.   We unpacked at camp but then was told to pack back up as we were at the adjacent camp! Only a few minutes’ walk but I was having a feeling this is not a well-organized trip. One evening the guide lost his temper about the people back at the warehouse who prep the suppliers in the trailer. They had not provided sufficient bowls etc. but the energy in room changed by his temper.  Who is this guide? Each day we just had enough water except one when we ran out of water but was on our way back to camp. Insufficient essential supplies. The water was hot on the first day and the guide tried to create ice tanks of water thereafter but there was not enough. On one walk, a woman was also impacted by the heat and she was left to the group to look after and walk with her back to the van. The guide went on ahead of the track. The heat was grueling and the path unsheltered by natural vegetation.   The next problem was on the last day. We packed our bags and put them in the trailer. Half way along the road back to Darwin, the guide stopped and got out of the van.  He said the trailer was not locked. He didn’t think to check the contents. When we arrived back in Darwin, and he pulled up outside the wrong hotel for me to get out my backpack was not inside the trailer. I thought it was a joke. I was asked, ‘did you put it in the trailer?’. I could not believe he was blaming others again for his shortcomings. I was sickened that my luggage was not there. I said you need to phone your boss immediately. In my backpack was a range of high end gear, sleeping bag, irreplaceable personal effects. Several thousands of dollars e.g. Arc’teryx jacket is $1000.  That evening I walked to my hotel where I should have just been relaxing by the pool and having dinner but instead I was phoning the company leaving messages, crying and in shock. Washing the clothes I wore that day. I was travelling alone. The next morning, I was going on another tour with a different company. Autopia came to the hotel and I was given a $150 voucher to buy some items but immediate toiletries, a t shirt, underwear and a pair of socks came to $220 but Autopia Tours didn’t care. They said you are not getting any more funds. You cannot buy much for $150. So again instead of relaxing in the morning, I was running around filing police reports, shopping on little money to make my next local trip somewhat comfortable. There was no time for breakfast on the next trip. My hotel was a waste of money as I could not relax or enjoy the pool. Autopia Tours said they sent people to look out for the bag and filed their own police report. This was an unsuccessful endeavour. The five weeks have been insufficient customer service. Instead of carrying on my trip from Darwin I bought a flight back to Sydney. I spent 3 days collecting receipts and calling Autopia Tours. I rearranged flights whilst trying to wait for compensation so I could repack and move on. I responded to each of their requests. I told them about the above safety incidents and had no correspondence on that issue. I was not made a priority as their phone systems needed updating, their directors were interstate with trade shows which were a priority and directors are on holiday. Excuses upon excuses. Every few days, I called for 3 weeks. I have had NO compensation for my lost luggage. They have not even refunded me my tour costs. The stress is significant. My mental health has taken a hit and what should have been exciting time is a continued saga. It is a disgraceful company. They have no idea how to deal with these issues, let alone run a safely operating business. These tour guides have people lives, you children and loved ones in their hands and a dream holiday can swiftly become a nightmare.
