Sunrise in the Himalayas - Rab Rai was an amazing guide and good companion. From sunrise on Tiger Hill to the toy train, he imparted his extensive knowledge with clarity and conciseness. He is also a very good artist with great pictures of the landscape and the trains. He was a good companion as we navigated Darjeeling, stepping out of tourist activities to meet friends of friends and speak at St Paul’s School.

Darjeeling Walks - Our well-informed and accomodative guide Ankit took us for 2 walks. Summer Capital Walk & Tibetan Tales. Both excellently curated by Darjeeling Walks. Right from the time we booked to our departing moment, we felt at home. We were never rushed and all additional questions asked were sensitively answered. Highly recommend Darjeeling Walks

A Soul-Stirring Himalayan Journey Curated to Perfection by Mr. Anirban Datta – Darjeeling Walks! - Our trip from June 20 to 27, 2025, with Darjeeling Walks and Mr. Anirban Datta was nothing short of magical – a beautifully curated exploration of culture, history, heritage, and nature that touched our hearts and expanded our horizons. Day 1: We began our journey with “The Hidden Valley of the Lepchas” – a serene and soulful immersion into the indigenous culture of the Lepcha community. The untouched beauty of the landscape and the insightful narratives provided by Anirban truly set the tone for a meaningful experience. Day 2: A nostalgic ride aboard the iconic Darjeeling Himalayan Railway was followed by a peaceful visit to the Ging Tea Estate, a heritage plantation retreat dating back to 1864. Walking through the estate felt like stepping into colonial history, with breathtaking views and aromatic tea gardens all around. Day 3: Our venture into Rinchenpong, Sikkim brought us face-to-face with natural beauty and spiritual calm. The panoramic views and quiet monasteries made for a deeply reflective day. Day 4: In Pelling, we walked the Monastic Trail and explored the Ruins of the Chogyal Trail, feeling deeply connected to Sikkim’s royal and spiritual legacy. Anirban’s storytelling and attention to historical detail brought the ruins to life in a way no guidebook ever could. Day 5: The Yuksom Monastic Trail was perhaps one of the most spiritual highlights of the trip. Ancient monasteries, sacred lakes, and peaceful forest trails enveloped us in tranquility and introspection. Day 6: Our final leg in Gangtok was filled with color, culture, and charm. From bustling markets to serene monasteries and vibrant local life, this leg perfectly rounded off our Himalayan sojourn. Mr. Anirban Datta is not just a guide – he is a cultural ambassador, a passionate storyteller, and a deeply knowledgeable expert on the Eastern Himalayas. His thoughtful planning, warm hospitality, and personal touch made each day feel exclusive, enriching, and unforgettable. If you’re looking for an immersive, meaningful travel experience in and around Darjeeling and Sikkim – Darjeeling Walks is the gold standard. Highly recommended! We’re already dreaming of our next journey with Anirban!

Friend in the Hills - Anirben( and his colleague Sunny) are very knowledgeable on the history, communities and the current affairs in Darjeeling and Kurseong. Thus the tours gets very interesting and informative. Mr Anirben took us to places with history around the Raj and Buddhism , to village working on sustainability, told us about the Nepalese and Buddhists history in the area. To places serving delicious local vegetarian and Non vegetarian dishes . He is knowledgeable, trustworthy, transparent in financial dealings, reasonable charges and very helpful even in matters not booked through them The fact that they have their own vehicle helps in seamlessly moving around and hassle free pick up/ drops Highly recommended

A fantastic Cultural dive-in - This marks my second tour with Darjeeling Walks! This trip unfolded with a slightly new route for me, compared to my 2021 one, but equally rich in information and experience. Sunny is a great guide and is a storehouse of knowledge, which allows for free-flowing conversation and exchange of information. The 4hr tour is a wonderfully curated mix of iconic locations including spots of colonial heritage, Buddhist landmarks, local spots, Tibetan culture, and more. There are also some amazing local food and tea tastings included. The pace is perfect, allowing one to soak in the surroundings one location at a time. The cherry on the top was a beautiful view of the Kanchenjunga - luckily the weather Gods were smiling upon us :) Highly recommended for anyone visiting Darjeeling for more than just a leisurely stay! A big thanks to Anirban and team for curating these walks so thoughtfully!

The unknown Darjeeling unveiled - My sister and I booked two trips with Darjeeling walks. We did the summer capital walk and the painting and culinary experience in a remote idyllic village in the lap of Himalays. The immense knowledge of the guides and the sheer brilliance of the curation of the experience kept us excited throughout the walk. Knowing the unknown about the iconic town of Darjeeling, the history, the architecture, the religion, the culture, art forms everything was explained in thorough detail. The painting experience with Rabindra Rai and culinary experience in the village with traditional Nepali musicians was unforgettable. The walk through the tea gardens into the forest to the riverside was refreshing and enriching. I would highly recommend Darjeeling walks to anyone who wants to experience Darjeeling and the areas around it

Must be at the top of your preferences in Darjeeling - We have been to Darjeeling many times previously. But, we really got the real 'taste' of the place with Anirban and Darjeeling Walks, while we meandered through the streets of the city, immersed in it’s intricate stories during the Heritage Walk.. An experience much recommended!

Interesting option - It is unlikely that one would visit most historic places in Darjeeling during their visit. I am glad I took this tour. The tour includes some food tasting as well. Sunny the guide is knowledgeable and did his job well. The tour lasted about 4 hours. Interesting And informative
