Explore Outlander Filming Locations
Blackness Castle - Blackness Castle featured as Fort William in the Outlander TV Series. We visit inside the castle with your guide giving you a short history and Outlander demonstration before allowing you to explore the castle on your own.
Midhope Castle - Midhope was the location of Lallybroch for the filming. We take a walk down to the castle passing by other notable Outlander filming sites on the way such as the Outlander Cave.
Please note that the castle sits on a private working estate and as such access may be denied at any time out with our control. It is closed to the public between December and April.
Falkland Community Hall - We visit Falkland which was used as the filming location for Inverness. We tend to have our lunch stop here as well and spend some time seeing the village square and quaint shops along the way. We do not visit Falkland Palace however, if anyone wishes to experience it, they can while the rest of the group have lunch and they can meet up with the group afterwards.
We do not visit Falkland during the winter months due to reduced daylight hours and opening hours at some of the other attractions, at this time, we will visit Linlithgow Palace instead. (Admission to Linlithgow Palace not included)
Doune Castle - We visit Doune Castle which was used as Castle Leoch, the MacKenzie Castle. Your guide will provide a short history demonstration before allowing you to enjoy the rest of your visit using the audio guides (included in your admission ticket).
Royal Burgh of Culross - We finish up this day at Culross which has been used for 3 seasons of Outlander so far and rumoured to be used again for Season 5. Your guide will take you on a walk to the Mercat Cross, which was the location for Crainesmuir, where Geillis Duncan lived before finishing up in the Townhouse. Once in the Townhouse, you will receive a short historical demonstration whilst having the chance to view the fantastic photography artwork on display by resident Photographer, Graham Harris Graham.
