Highlights

Explore Outlander Filming Locations

Blackness Castle - Blackness Castle featured as Fort William in the Outlander TV Series. We visit inside the castle with your guide giving you a short history and Outlander demonstration before allowing you to explore the castle on your own.

Midhope Castle - Midhope was the location of Lallybroch for the filming. We take a walk down to the castle passing by other notable Outlander filming sites on the way such as the Outlander Cave.

Please note that the castle sits on a private working estate and as such access may be denied at any time out with our control. It is closed to the public between December and April.

Falkland Community Hall - We visit Falkland which was used as the filming location for Inverness. We tend to have our lunch stop here as well and spend some time seeing the village square and quaint shops along the way. We do not visit Falkland Palace however, if anyone wishes to experience it, they can while the rest of the group have lunch and they can meet up with the group afterwards.

We do not visit Falkland during the winter months due to reduced daylight hours and opening hours at some of the other attractions, at this time, we will visit Linlithgow Palace instead. (Admission to Linlithgow Palace not included)

Doune Castle - We visit Doune Castle which was used as Castle Leoch, the MacKenzie Castle. Your guide will provide a short history demonstration before allowing you to enjoy the rest of your visit using the audio guides (included in your admission ticket).

Royal Burgh of Culross - We finish up this day at Culross which has been used for 3 seasons of Outlander so far and rumoured to be used again for Season 5. Your guide will take you on a walk to the Mercat Cross, which was the location for Crainesmuir, where Geillis Duncan lived before finishing up in the Townhouse. Once in the Townhouse, you will receive a short historical demonstration whilst having the chance to view the fantastic photography artwork on display by resident Photographer, Graham Harris Graham.

Amazing Outlander and Scotland tour - My daughter and I did the 3 day Outlander tour. Not only did we see some wonderful sights, our guides were punctual, knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and entertaining. They pretty much felt like family we visited in Scotland, who delighted in showing us the sights. I would definitely recommend them and will contact them again if we ever return to Scotland.

Total scam - Do not book with this company - Total scam! Booked a 3 day Outlander tour in June. The morning of day 1, she called and said she needed to cancel that day due to a “family emergency.” On the morning” of day 2, after taking the train 40 minutes outside of Edinburgh to a village trains station, she was a no-show as the designated meeting point. After waiting for over an hour with no cell service at the meeting point, and walking 1 mine into town, we were told she was still having a “family emergency.” When the gentleman at the coffee/teas kiosk at the train station asked who we were (obviously) waiting for and if it was for a tour. He told us that he knows Katrina and her tour company, and this is her typical scam, and of having seen many tour guests stranded at that train station. He pulled up her reviews on Trip Advisor and shows us his phone - all negative, and all the same complaints.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! - DO NOT BOOK! DO NOT BOOK!! DO NOT BOOK!!! I concur with all of the previous reviews. We too were left stranded at the Dalmeny station, had to walk a mile into town to try and find cell service to reach Catriona Stevenson. When we finally reached her, she was in the middle of a 'family emergency' which, we have found out from a local, is her usual MO for not showing up. We ended up scrambling to find another tour, and spending an outrageous amount of money in order to try and salvage the whole purpose of our trip. Spare yourself the heartache, and avoid at all costs.

SCAMMERS!! DO NOT BOOK - RUN AWAY!! - We booked the 3 day Outlander tour almost a year ago (July 2021) and the reviews at that time were glowing. Our party of three showed up to the meeting site at the Dalmeny train station as instructed, and met four other ladies who had booked the same tour. No one from the tour company ever showed up, and their phone number was disconnected. We went back and checked the reviews again and starting September 2021 people starting posting reviews that the company was ghosting customers and not showing up. Do not book with these crooks!

SCAM - SCAM ALERT. They did not show up. All phone numbers didn't work. They sent an email day before reminding us and then another a few days after the 3 day tour thanking us.

Do NOT book - Wish we would've read previous reviews as we've had the same disappointing experience today - no show at meeting point, zero communication. Infuriating. Hopefully our bank can refund the costs.

Thieves - The best Tour Operator! We are a group of 10, we paid Catriona Stevenson for the full tour for April 2-6, 2022. We paid her 10,000GBP in total and then she dissappeared. She is just a thief under coverage. She was and still not answering our calls and she never returned our money back. She also blocked us from Facebook. We got about 50% back from PayPal! Stay away. This is a FRAUD! Catriona is a big and nasty THIEF!

Unacceptable - On day one I received an email right at the time this Chickie was supposed to be picking us up. Car trouble. OK, understandable. See you tomorrow. On day two I received an email saying she would pick us up at 11 am. Great, see you then. That was 10 days ago. Not a single word. No email. No call. No text. Nothing. What kind of person does this? I traveled over 4000 miles for this tour. Unacceptable!

Avoid, still awaiting refund - I booked a 3 day outlander tour for £1080 last June 2020. I paid a £108 deposit. The trip was for my 70 year old mother. It reached Christmas 2020 and I contacted Slainte tours who operate as Clyde coast tourism at Companies house. After a few weeks I had confirmation that the trip in February was cancelled and that I could rearrange which I understood with Covid-19. I sent new dates and chased for 2 months. Nothing. I received one email saying an owner (Helmut) had been ill and that they would get back to me. The former owner left the company last August 2020. This business is owned solely by Catriona Stevenson and is a scam. I asked for a refund repeatedly from February 19th 2021 as the company had breached contract. No contact. On the register at Companies house it shows the business is not financially stable and has a number of filing issues. The website shows they are part of a tourism group but again this is a lie and they have been asked to remove the logos (which they have not done). They are not part of any group that guarantees trips or money. As they use PayPal invoicing for trips, you are not protected financially. I am now looking at legal options having taken advice and am going through the slow steps required before I can take the company to small claims court (I have done the initial legal letters which have all been ignored). Save your money and book elsewhere! At least I found out before I travelled to Scotland with my 70year old mother! Avoid this scam.

Disappointed - I am so disappointed in this tour company and service. I booked a 3-day tour. On the first day those of us on the tour realized we all paid different rates for the exact same tour. The second day of the tour, the driver never showed up to pick us up from the city meeting point. We had to wait several hours for a cab sent by the company to pick us up and get us to the bus/location of the other tour participants. The driver was very polite, but we needed to move quickly to make up for the lost time. It was disappointing. I am STILL WAITING for the promised price adjustment and refund. Unethical pricing practices and changes make me cautious of recommending this company.
