The majestic African Monument Renaissance, Soumbedioune Market, and various art galleries will also be part of your exploration before we commence the Goree Island trip. On the island, anticipate a palatial lunch prior to visiting the poignant slave house museum and historical colonial sites. Take advantage of the soothing island ambiance with a leisurely amble. Your return to Dakar commences at 4:30pm with a quick and refreshing 25-minute ferry ride. Once back in Dakar, we will provide transport to return you to your initial pick-up point.

A rich and resilient history - So glad I did this tour, I learned so much about the history of Senegal and my history. My guide was attentive, responsive, and supportive. My favorite part was Goree Island where I was humbled by the atrocities that occurred and got to celebrate local artists and eat good food!

Mr.Alpha Dia was our... - Mr.Alpha Dia was our guide, he was excellent in everything! He was knowledgeable about the city and hit all the highlights and gave historical narration! He was kind and patient. His partner at Goree Island was a local and gave a great tour! The driver with Mr. Dia was a good driver and we felt safe. I give this tour a 10/10! I will recommend to my family and friends.

Recommend everyone in united states - Goree Island. The Door of No Return. Fascinating, captivating, intriguing and interesting Historical events the enslaved people encountered. Very important part of History not taught in USA. (African perspective). City tour also interesting. Renasonce monument, Islamic center, catholic church, president house, etc.. Trip was scheduled for 7 hours. Tour Guide Alfa gave more time. I cannot thank Alfa enough. Merci, Danke, Gracia.

great time! - Abdul was a phenomenal host! He and Pop picked us up in Saly after we made a last minute reservation that he was unaware of. When our hotel called him, he told me that he'd be there to pick us up in an hour. We drove to Dakar where Abdul gave us a good bit of history and pointed out many of the government buildings before we went to the port for the ferry over to Goree Island. While we were waiting on the ferry a torrential downpour began and we had to wait about an hour before we could resume. Abdul never wavered in making sure that we were able to do everything that we had set out to do even though it went way past their normal operating time. We thoroughly appreciated his time with us, his expertise on Senegal and the history that surrounds this area, good and ugly. We would certainly book with Diallo Tours Services again.

Amazing - The experience was amazing, the Tour Guide spoke English and was very friendly. The tour really gives an overview of the city and the its a nice experience. Everything was professionally handled and the island is filled with so much History i really enjoyed it.

Good tour - The tour was very nice, Goree Island is impressive, as is the African Renaissance monument (truly massive). Abdoulaye was a very good guide, informative, spoke good English and was pleasant to be around. I would have liked to see a bit more of Dakar - there are only 2 stops at the Catholic Cathedral and the Renaissance monument. Would have liked to walk around the city a bit more. But for what the tour did show, it was certainly worth it!

Don't recommend this man and the tour was okay because I payed him and also payed every ticket counter . - It was okay, he showed me around, and gave me a tour of some nice restaurants and beaches but he clearly gets a commission for all these gift shops he kept pressuring me to shop at because he one time told me "you have to support these people because they don't have much money"
Alpha also asked me to book him again but off of the site and he up charged me and that rubbed me the wrong way . Honestly just find a reputable tour company or just ask your hotel staff for a recommended tour guide .
I payed Alpha and his friend but I really could have did everything myself because every place he took me to had a ticket booth and another tour guide. Lesson learned and everyone should just use google and find their own personal taxi cab.

Great tour but the ferry process was awful - Our guide arrived at hotel on time and we got on the tour right away. The African Renaissance tour was cool. The drama began when we got to the ferry. It was a Sunday and so the port was teaming with people. We waited in line for almost 3 hours to board the ferry. Lots of jostling and pushing and shoving to get to the ferry. This was not the fault of the guide so Viator needs to figure out a better way to run this tour.
