- Ostrog Monastery - One fo the most visited Orthodox monasteries in the world and the most important Orthodox sacred place in Montenegro, situated against an almost vertical background, high up in the large rock of Ostroška Greda, in Montenegro. It is dedicated to Saint Basil of Ostrog, who was buried here. It consists of two parts - the Upper and Lower Monasteries.In the Upper, Monastery are kept Saint Basil of Ostrog’s relics. Saint Basil is the founder of the monastery From the monastery, a super view of the Bjelopavlići plain can be seen. Believers from all over the world come here to pray for the health of their loved ones and their own. The monastery was established in the 17th century but renovated in the 20th century.

This waterfall, although considerably smaller, is a popular attraction for those visiting Podgorica and serves as a respite during the sweltering summer months, and was titled after the famous Niagara Falls in Canada.
From this location, you can take in the scenic view of the Cijevna River Canyon and a section of one of the most extensive vineyards in Europe.
Our journey then takes us towards the Ostrog Monastery. A wonder crafted by a saintly hand, it’s a sight worthy of admiration. The positive energy that this place emits and the union of prayers with nature stimulate the forgotten bliss that we harbored within us.
The enchanting beauty of this abbey, built by St.Vasilije, was documented by Napoleon’s colonel and French commander Viala de Somier, who visited the abbey in 1810 and penned a book about it…
The monastery has remained vital spiritual destinations, and the relics of Saint Basil of Ostrog continue to draw people from across the globe.
If the waterfall happens to be dry, we will instead propose a visit to the Zdrebaonik Monastery and a coffee break at the ‘Cuk’ camp.

Great experience! - The natural beauty of Montenegro is amazing. Our tour guide was also very knowledgeable and able to teach us a lot about the places we were visiting. Also, he showed us a few places to take some beautiful pictures along the way.

Wonderful day trip in Podgorica area - Great day traveling with Dimitri from Mont Travelers - gave us some great history and facts about Montenegro, Podgorica, and the local culture on the way up to the monastery and then on the the way to the waterfalls. He quickly modified some of the itinerary for other sites since we had already visited and showed us some lesser known towns, etc. He had such great demeanor, knowledge, and a sense of humor (not to mention driving skills on the hairpin-turn-road up the mountain) that we booked a trip for the next day to for a boat ride near Lake Skadar and a winery tour and tasting (separately reviewed). You won't be disappointed! I've purposely not added photos - you need to see for yourself - Happy travels :)

The best tour in Montenegro and the highlight of our Trip!! - Such an amazing trip! The highlight of our stay in Montenegro!
We met with Dimitrije who organized a trip to Ostrog and the waterfalls.
This is a trip unlike any other we have seen. The Ostrog monastery has special energy, and the people that took us there were amazing!
We were lucky that we came in July as there was water in waterfalls.
The water is so clear and clean and we are so sorry that we did not bring our swimming suits to have a swim.
I highly recommend this tour!

Peacefull central Part of Montenegro - Complete experience was such a great and relaxed. Everyone was helpful with useful tips and recommendations. Will come back to see more for sure.

Exceeded expectations. - Simply superb. Dimitrue was our guide and driver. Arrived on time and explained our tour. At the monetary we were given the history and helped do the right thing. Halfway we stopped for a traditional lunch at a lovely restaurant, then came the FUN falls…it was amazing. This is a top notch outfit high quality service.

Great experience in Montenegro - This was my first day in Montenegro. I joined this tour because the "Ostrog monastery - Niagara waterfall" combination is very special for me. During the tour, my tour guide Dimirije, a very nice and friendly guide, introduced Montenegro, Ostrog monastery and Niagara waterfall to me in detail, and answered my questions patiently. I have learned a lot about the background of monastery and the rituals we or the followers should follow. It was also very lucky for me to see the beautiful view of the Niagara waterfall.
The tour was very well-organized. I have learned a lot about this beautiful country and I would definitely like to visit Montenegro again in the future.

great experience - It was a very good tour, everything was good organized, me and my daughter had a great day. For additional price a visit to Rijeka Crnojevića was added and it was worth of it, especially the way to this place is a beautiful landscape of the river and rich green vegetation of Skadar National Park. Highly recommended the tour and the guide.

Nice day trip from Podgorica - We had taken trip of Durmitor National Park with this company and the owner had come himself to show us around, so to maintain continuity he took us on this trip too. Appreciate Mr Dimitri's professionalism and customer service. We felt comfortable despite the fact that we were travelling with our 1.5 year old. It's always interesting to learn about other cultures and histories and this monastery is a unique one ! The Niagara falls set in a serene setting is a very calming place and ideal for picnics, but since we went in winter wasn't the ideal time for it .
