Excellent day! - We were exceptionally lucky to have had our guide all to ourselves for the day. Viet engaged happily with our hundreds of questions about geography, history, culture, architecture, and sociology. She was gentle and kind when we struggled with all the stairs at Marble Mountain in the humidity on the freshly and thoroughly rained on surfaces. The caves were amazing in themselves, and the sculptures and religious altars were beautiful. Our only criticism falls on the driver who had left us at the Marble Mountain and took about 20 minutes to return to us even though our guide had called him before we got to the bottom. Next stop to Monkey Mountain and the giant statue of Lady Buddha. Lunch by the beach and then DaNang and Cham museums. The breadth of Viet's knowledge was truly impressive. We hope her travel company knows what an asset to their business she is.

Must see! It was a piping hot day... -
Must see! It was a piping hot day but the programme was so inspiring that it kept me going. Marble Mountains are impressive and the Cham Museum has really cool items on display. Even my sulking 12-year old liked the cheerful thousand year old elephant statue and kept taking photographs. Lunch was just by the sea there was a choice of six different set menu options. Our guide Mr Khoa told a lot of interesting things and could answer every question in good English and his son had a very calm driving style which we appreciated. This was supposed to be a small group tour but this time it was just the two of us.

Best tour guide. - I would highly recommend this company. You must ask for Van when booking a tour. This lovely man is 72 years old and fitter than most 20 year olds I know. His English is excellent and his knowledge of the history of this area is extensive. Hearing his personal stories about serving in the war and about how much Da Nang and Hoi An have changed during his lifetime was fascinating. I would definitely use Hoi An express again on our next visit.

We had a great tour with Eric. He... -
We had a great tour with Eric. He was knowledgeable and funny. We could have hung out with him all day.

The tour company was responsive. I had more than one email from them before the tour even began. We happened to be in Hoi An during heavy flooding and cars were not able to get to our hotel. The tour company worked with our hotel to get us to a spot where they could pick us up. They also helped us get back to our hotel after the tour. Eric said not to worry that he would take us back home to his mother if we were unable to get back to our hotel. I believe he was serious!

Marble Mountain, even in the rain, was beautiful. Our tour guide did a great job of showing us everything and deftly keeping us separate from the large tour groups. The site can get crowded easily so it was nice to be able to experience it as apart from the crowds as possible.

We were unable to go to one pagoda due to security reasons because the APEC conference was happening at the time. Instead we were taken to the Nam O fish sauce village. This had been communicated to us before the trip. I will admit that I was dubious about this substitution beforehand, but it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the tour. It really should be added to the itinerary as a regular stop. The seventh generation fish sauce maker was incredibly personable and hospitable, despite speaking no English. It was interesting learning about his process and business. There was absolutely no hard sell of buying the product unlike at the marble carving place it was just genuinely an educational visit. I did end up asking to buy some sauce because it was delicious!

Overall I highly recommend this tour and this company.
