Hoi An - Once a prominent Southeast Asian trading hub during the 16th and 17th centuries, Hoi An is essentially a living museum showcasing its old-town architecture. Noteworthy heritage sites include Chinese temples, a Japanese-designed bridge, pagodas, wooden shop-houses, French-colonial buildings, and ancient canals. Although large-scale trading has since moved on, Hoi An has successfully preserved and restored its charming heritage, earning the designation of a UNESCO World Heritage site in December 1999.
Hoi An - My Son Temple - Hoi An (SIC Tour)
My Son Sanctuary - From the 4th to the 13th centuries, a unique culture with spiritual roots in Indian Hinduism flourished along the coast of present-day Vietnam. This is vividly illustrated by the remains of a series of impressive tower-temples situated in a dramatic location that served as the religious and political capital of the Champa Kingdom for much of its history.
Hoi An - Tra Que Village - Departure from Da Nang
Tra Que Vegetable Village - At 8:00 am, a local guide will meet you at your hotel with a bicycle. You will cycle to a local farm in Tra Que Village. A brief walk will take you around the vegetable garden, where you can join the farmers in preparing the land and fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. The subsequent steps include raking the ground, sowing, watering, picking vegetables, and engaging in various gardening activities. After these activities, you will take a short break and enjoy a foot bath before preparing lunch with a local family.
Your lunch will feature a variety of local delicacies, including “Tam Huu” spring rolls and “Banh Xeo,” a local pancake from the central region of Vietnam. You can participate in cooking these dishes with the chef. After your morning activities and lunch, you will enjoy a traditional Vietnamese post-lunch nap before learning how to harvest and wrap the vegetables.
Around 2:00 pm, say goodbye to your host family before cycling back to Hoi An.

Hoi An was Vietnam’s most active trading center over many centuries and has been largely preserved. The architecture of the city reflects the influence of Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, French, and British traders. Hoi An is also the town where French Missionary Alexandre De Rhodes introduced Catholicism to Vietnam as well as the Romanised script that has become the standard Vietnamese script. Hoi An is also an excellent base with which to explore the surrounding areas, and this trip will provide you the opportunity to join a local eco fishing tour on the Thu Bon river, and the chance to explore My Son, the former holy land of the Cham civilization that occupied central Vietnam between the 2nd and 15th centuries.
