Highlights

Day1: Saigon - CaiBe - VinhLong - Ben Tre (Lunch/Dinner)

Cai Be Floating Market - Morning, our shuttle will take you out of town on an approx. 2hrs drive to Cai Lay where you collect your bicycles and enjoy a leisurely, two-hour bicycle ride on peaceful country lanes and quiet roads that pass through local villages and along canals.

We board our boat for a visit to the Cai Be floating market and cruise over the mighty Mekong river (~ 1.5km wide) to Binh Hoa Phuoc island. After lunch, we continue our cruise down Mekong river to Cho Lach canals, and start a short cycling on small paths under the green canopy alongside water, mostly shared with just pedestrians, other local cyclists and scooters, to discover the nursery gardens, fruit orchards around, and daily life of farmers. Returning to our boat, we cruise again one hour to Ben Tre for the night. Overnight home stay.

Day 2: BenTre to Saigon (Breakfast, Lunch)

Ben Tre Province - After breakfast, we start cycling on back country roads alongside river, seeing daily life of the locals, feeling lost on winding roads under the green coconut canopy. We also pass Ba Lai river, a smaller branch of Mekong on our way, to visit local workshops making various products from coconut that Ben Tre is famous for, such as coconut candy, coconut pandan waffle, sponge cake, etc…. Continue our bike ride toward Ham Luong bridge and have a Lunch at a local home.

After lunch, take hammock siesta or walking through local village to visit a farmer house breeding fighting cocks, or if energy permits, take to two wheels again for another 10km more to visit broom making workshop, a forge, and a coconut peeling workshop. We then board our boat for a cruise down the busy Ham Luong branch into a peaceful canal, including a rowing boat trip along narrow canals, to Ben Tre centre where you are picked up and transferred back to Saigon.

Extraordinary bike tour to explore the Mekong Delta - Extraordinary bike tour to explore the Mekong Delta mixed with some boat trips. A must do if you want to get a sense of the life within and the vast size of the Mekong Delta. Temperature and humidity are challenging for northern Europeans but when riding on the bike the air stream makes it endurable. Our guide Mr. Hai was very nice and pleasant to talk to - and due to his good English really our gateway to understanding Vietnam as we could ask all the questions that had accumulated over time. Highly recommend the tour although next time we would opt for electric bikes :)

Great 2 day trip with Hai - I did the 2 day Mekong cycling trip as a private tour, staying overnight in Can Tho. My guide was Hai, who was great. His English was very good, and he was funny, easy going and safety conscious. He knew a lot about the area and everything there was to see as well. The bikes were really good quality too. We cycled mostly on back roads, past people's houses and along the water. Distances weren't too long, and we had plenty of breaks along the way. Saw lots of things I wouldn't have seen otherwise, a real slice of Vietnamese life. Greatly enjoyed it, recommended!

Impressive Cycling tour through Mekong Delta - We booked a 2 day cycling tour through Mekong Delta. Loc was our tour guide and gave us lots of historical and background information about the region. He had amazing knowledge about the region, its specialties and the best cycling paths. The bikes were in really good conditions. We cycled through rice fields, local villages, bamboo, banana and dragon fruit trees. Furthermore, we visited the Can Tho floating market. At each stop we met our driver who offered water and towels. That was outstanding service. We had lots of fun and enjoyed the tour. In addition we had a 2 day Halong Bay Cruise with SinhBalo and Phoenix Cruiser. We also enjoyed this tour. We can definately recommend SinhBalo Adventure Travel!

mekong delta with Mr. Nam - Had the time of my life at Mekong delta! Our tour guide Nam was the most amazing tour guide I have ever had. He went above and beyond what a normal tour guide should do and made us feel part of a family. I enjoyed seeing the floating villages and the the floating markets very much. And I would recommend any tour that Nam leads. You are sure to have a great time and and be well educated on Vietnamese cultures and traditions while also making a lifelong friend.
