Additional Information

The ‘Mountain of Colors’ (also known as Vinicunca or Rainbow Mountain) is a major new attraction in Peru. Situated over 100 kilometers from the city of Cusco, it peaks at an elevation of 5,200 meters above sea level. The mountain is tinted various colors due to a unique mineral composition. Hues of red, purple, green, yellow, pink, and more are splashed across its slopes and summit. Just a few years ago, this sight was blanketed in ice. As of 2016, it has welcomed hundreds of daily tourists, rivalling Machu Picchu as one of Cusco-Peru’s must-visit sites.
