• Waqrapukara Archaeological Complex - The tour to Waqrapukara starts with a hotel pickup at 4:00 a.m., heading south to enjoy the scenic Pomacanchi Lagoon.

The journey continues to Sangarara, where breakfast will be served before proceeding to the Rinconada community, the starting point for the hike to Waqrapukara.

During the hike, participants will encounter a diverse range of local flora and fauna, leading to the Waqrapukara archaeological site. Upon arrival, a coca leaf ritual will be conducted by the guide. The tour includes visits to Intipunku (Sun Gate), the main square, towers, terraces, the Wiracocha site, and cave paintings.

After exploring Waqrapukara, the group will return to Sangarara for lunch, followed by transportation back to Cusco.

We’ll commence your adventure early, initiating pick-up services from your hotel at approximately 4:30 am and chauffeuring you southeast of Cusco for a 3-hour drive. Our destination: a quaint settlement known as Chuquicahuana, where you can begin your day with a local breakfast.

Following that, our journey continues as we drive towards another small hamlet known as Rinconada. From here, the adventure truly begins - as we ascend on foot for an estimated 2.5 hours until we reach the historic Waqrapukara archaeological site where a thrilling experience awaits you.
