Highlights
  • Cusco Hotel Cascada del Inka - Note: First of all, I will send you the list of ingredients ahead of time (or replacements in case of chicken or vegetarian version), so you can be prepared for the class and we can cook together.

I want to start telling you the story of pisco and making together a refreshing pisco sour, then we will start discovering what a “Lomo saltado” is and it’s origins.

I’m going to tell you everything you need to know about this dish that is considered the most representative of the modern Peruvian cuisine.

I’ll show you the techniques and some secrets to make this dish that I have discovered in all these years of experience that I have.

And most important, we can make a veggie/vegan version of it if you preffer, so everyone is welcome.

I know these times are hard, complicated and many people won’t have the chance to visit Peru for the next months… So, let me take a little part of Peru to your tables for now and also, tell you what to expect (talking about food) for when you visit this mystic and a magic land.

Additional Information

With the mentorship of your Tutor, you’ll delve into the historical significance of Peruvian culinary art and pick up useful insights for your potential future visit to Cusco and Peru at large.

I’ve been conducting tutorials for travellers over the past five years and am well-versed in guiding you on how to fully appreciate the Peruvian culture.

Given the current uncertainties, the idea of tourism feels distant and may not be feasible for the upcoming period. However, since you’re unable to explore Peru in person and imbibe more about its essence… Allow me to bring a small slice of Peru to your dining tables.

Virtual Cooking Fun -- Live from Peru! - Our cooking classes with Ricardo were so much fun! We hired Ricardo to conduct two cooking classes to thank our organization's volunteers for all the help and hanging in there during the pandemic. In addition, since no one was able to travel, going "global" with the classes, and Ricardo live from Peru, was a real virtual treat. Ricardo consulted with us multiple times and provided all the ingredient lists, so we could make sure our guests had everything they needed in plenty of time for the class. With a winning personality, excellent english, and a true passion for the natural wonders and cuisine of Peru, we were all engaged, enthralled and enjoyed the Lomo Saltado and of course, with Pisco sours. We absolutely recommend Ricardo for both virtual and in-person cooking classes. Thank you Ricardo!

Best cooking class!! - Our cooking class with Ricardo was fantastic. We run a large company and wanted to provide a fun team building activity for our staff, especially with this hard year with Covid. Ricardos cooking class was super fun. He’s super entertaining, gives awesome history background of the food and culture of Peru and is super funny is his impecable. We have worked with other chefs and cooking classes but he is by far our favorite that we’ve done! We’re going to be using his services WAY more often. He also has a service that releases cooking videos a few times a month for times when you want something fun and different to cook at home. Highly highly, HIGHLY recommend Ricardo!

More than just peruvian cooking! - Ricardo is an excellent host because he loves his subject, his food and his country. He's passionate about sharing knowledge and he is what makes the peruvian cooking experience so good. Check out his youtube channel for recipes too. The set up in the kitchen and dining room is perfect. We had a great experience shopping at the San Pedro market for ingredients and then making a couple of dishes and a pisco sour with Ricardo.

Ricardo brings Peru into your kitchen! - Ricardo gave me and a small group a virtual cooking class from a roof in Peru with incredible sunset and city sounds around him. The ingredients list he sent out before hand made everything incredibly fun and easy to follow during the class. We started with the classic Peruvian cocktail, a pisco sour and then made Peruvian ceviche which was the first time I’ve had the real thing since I left Peru a few years ago. His humor and historical/cultural anecdotes were relevant and vital to his class feeling like he brought Lima into my own kitchen.
