Challenging but Rewarding! - Rainbow Mountain was a challenging hike but extremely rewarding! Absolutely beautiful! It's an early morning but so worth it! Everyone came together to encourage each other to get to the top! You do have the option to take a horse but will still have to make the final hike to the top.

A colorful walk - Hiking poles good shoes and I had to put water supply will help you finish this reasonably hard walk. A couple of days in Cusco acclimatizing yourself to the altitude will help you also.

Great experience but.... - I was surprised that one account manager went to my hotel to walk me through the whole experience process and provided tips and advice about what to expect from the tour. I was really looking forward to hike Rainbow Mountain and I was excited about it! They picked up us timely around 4:30-4:45am. We drove for approximetely 90 minutes to have breakfast but oh boy what a horrible breakfast! I wish I know it was going to be that bad so I could have my hotel prepare me a breakfast box as they only serve tea, bread and some eggs with a tiny piece of some kind of sausage. I wish they had more options (like fresh fruits which is abundant in Peru). I was not expecting a breakfast buffet but what about the people that don't eat eggs like me or vegetarians? they never asked me for that option! Once we arrive everyone, including the guides went up at each pace. I was concern at a point because I could not see any of my guides so it was more like you hike on you own and I hope you do well. At least that was my perception of how it was. I had to ask stranger to take pictures because my guides were no where to be found which it was disappointing, I expected a better service on their part. A positive thing was I was feeling a little bit light headed coming down from the mountain and they gave me some local Agua de Florida which I immediately purchase a bottle to bring home with me. I met a lot of people from other tour group but my group was just spread all over the place. At least lunch was more decent but please, please, please, have better toilets. There was no toilet paper in any of those bathrooms and no toilet seat!!! I would not dount to recommend this tour or the experience but perhaps other company might provide more attentive guides, better food option and decent toilet that includes toilet paper!
