Highlights
- Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain - We will pick you up between 04:00

04:30 am. Then we will drive through the South Valley. The drive takes around 3 hours to get Quesinouno community where we will stop for breakfast.
We will then start the trek for 3 hours approx. to the rainbow mountain (most of the way is going up). On the way up will be rewarded with breath taking sights of herds of alpacas and llamas, the Ausangate Mountain, many red mountains and traditional local houses.
When we finally reach our destination, the Rainbow Mountains (5,020 m / 16,466 ft.), you will have time to explore the area and take pictures. We will spend approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour (depending on your trekking speed and weather conditions).After the spectacular sights from the top we will go down to the starting point, that will take approximately 2 hours. (Quesiuno community) from where we will take the transport to Hanchipacha community to have lunch. Then we will start our journey back to Cusco.

On your adventure, you will traverse through a lush, emerald valley with the majestic Ausangate mountain looming in the backdrop. You’ll get a front-row seat to the indigenous lifestyle within the mountains, with the opportunity to interact with the locals. As you inch closer to the Rainbow Mountain, the initial traces of the diverse minerals that constituted the colourful hills begin to surface. Your guide will shed light on the unique composition of the “Rainbow Mountain”, and then, with one final uphill trek, you will arrive at a viewpoint that offers a panoramic view of the stunning terrain that comprises this hallowed region in Cusco - Perú.

Fantastic Day Trip - Did this day trip from Cusco and Jose Luis was our guide. We have no words to express our gratitude to this company and the guide. The tour weas an outstanding excperience, something that we would cherish for the rest of our life. Everything was accurate, just as it was mentioned in the itinerary and the guide spoke good English and took a good care of us as we hiked up and back.

Encuentros Rocks - Our guide was Jose Luis. We could not be any more happier with him. He is thoughtful in every way - looking our for our safety, knoledgable in culture and trkking tips and current practices. He is very attuned to hikers´fitness and stamina and modifies pace accordingly.

Highly Recommended - The trek to the Rainbow Mountains was very special experience. The tour was organised very perfectly. The meals provided were adequate. Jose Luis was our guide and he made this a very interesting trip.

Very Nice Hike - A wonderful hike up to Rainbow Mountain. This is a true gem. The view, the people, the hike everything was so special.I was lucky i had a clear weather so there were no snow on the mountain and i had a chance to see all the seven colours. A very special place.

Top Notch Service! - Our trek up to the Rainbow Mountains of Peru could not have been any better. This was a very pleasant experience and all thanks to Jose, our guide who took an incredible effort in organising and conducting this trek. The best part was they were well equipped with first aid kits and oxygen shots which was very relieving as we have heard stories of travellers feeling sick at high altitude due to lack of oxygen.
Every thing was on time. The food the offered (breakfast and lunch) were delicious. Thanks for such a memorable trek. Kudos to Jose and Encuentros Peru Adventure team!

Many things to improve ... - We booked a raimbow mountain trip with Encuentros Peru Adventure, booking the trip was easy however the day of our trip things were not as promised.
here is the summury of our trip
Positives +
-Small group,
-Easy to book
Negatives.-
-50m late pick up
-Driver was in a rush, with loud music, answer the phone driving, which we consider no responsible about their clients.
-Basic breakfast and lunch
-Our Guide did not have first aid kit and oxygen, highly neccesary for this trip, one of the hikkers got sick and guide was not well prepare for emergencies.
-Guide still needs to improve his english skill, we had better ones in the previous tour we did.
