Brief Summary - We started at the market at 3pm. I got there a little early and there were a few cooking classes going on but it didn’t take too long to find the right one. There were three people in our group with bearing levels of proficiency in English in Spanish. Our chef did a great job of switching between both, and I never felt left behind. He gave us a tour of the market. Being careful to point out places that might be unsafe for travelers and cause food poisoning. We also sampled a few things like cheese and chocolate, not a full array, but that was fine by me. After we left the market, that took about 45 minutes, we got in a five minute cab to the cooking class area. It looked like a commercial rented kitchen, however it was very cold inside and I’m glad I brought my jacket. We all ended up wearing our jacket at the entire time as there is no central heat. Two of us in the group were non-drinkers and it was easy to transition the cocktails to mocktails. Besides ceviche, all the food was vegetarian, which was my preference. I did have a small snack beforehand which was perfect. By the end, I could barely even finish the courses. I think we had about 5 to 6 courses in total. You should not make dinner plans for afterwards. Great experience overall!

Wonderful evening with Dael. - Our experience was fantastic. We loved the food and experience cooking with others from Canada and Michigan, USA. The place was a little hard to find because we met at the cooking studio instead of the market due to a community celebration. Dael is a wonderful chef, full of knowledge and happy to share local customs which we loved. Bravo to a great culinary and cultural experience.

Highly recommended! - I was super lucky to have the cooking class all to myself! This is a true testament to the generosity of Dael as many other operators would have just cancelled the class last minute. The market tour was interesting and I got to experience some more local culture. Then back to the kitchen and we prepared the 4-course meal. Dael was very helpful in explaining the ingredients and answering questions. The ceviche was my favourite! And there was more than enough food (especially for one!). Dael was also a really interesting person to chat to and I appreciate his perspectives. Overall, a great experience and a full belly - just what you want for a cooking class.

Best thing in Cusco - This was the best thing we did in Cusco. The tour we were on (Exoticca) did not include the wonderful market and it was spectacular. Our chef led us through it and we learned so much about the food and culture of Peru. The cooking class itself was so much fun and very delicious. Our chef, Jhesica, was so talented and explained about the origins of each dish. It was an exceptional evening. Don't miss this when in Cusco!!!

The best way to learn about Peruvian food - Dael made this such a great end to my visit to Peru with cultural information on food yes! But also on just about any other subject my group wanted to discuss. Starting in the local market and doing various tastings along the way is a great introduction. The Studio is well wet out and the prep and instruction runs like clockwork. This is amazing value for money and and one certainly not to be missed!

If you get the opportunity- just do it! - I was a brilliant course to do. We met outside a local market with the historic centre of Cusco. Two other guests were with us and they were both so lovely. Dael took us into the market,-which was literally across the road from our hotel- and we had never stepped in. Dael led the group around the market explaining what local goods were on offer and which were to become the ingredients of or meal. We tasted, touched some of the local Peruvian produce learning so much about what Peru had t offer. After we walked 7 blocks to the studio where the fun began. It was instantly clear that he was a masterchef showing us knife skills and demonstrating how to prepare the ingredients which were to become our 4 course lunch. We started off making a delicious Pisco made with passion fruit - it was absolutely gorgeous!, Everything that we did was so good under his guidance. He has sent us the recipes and I/we will make some of these when back home in the UK. Do not hesitate to do the course.
